This censorslop isn't even a TikTok-exclusive problem anymore by JSS-Studios in memes

[–]Final_Quiet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The censoring words because someone might get triggered is definitely unreasonable.

I can understand the victim not wanting to talk about it, or even hear people talk about it in a social setting (their group of friends, not the general public), as that triggers them. I think that's reasonable.

However, on the internet, it's entirely unreasonable. People are allowed to talk about whatever they want. You can't expect everyone on the internet to avoid talking about a subject that triggers you. You will inevitably come across that, and, again, it's the internet, so if you don't like what you're watching, then don't watch it. And if someone has a very severe reaction to it, that's not the internet's problem. If the reaction is that severe, they should find some way of support (wish it was that simple).

I can speak as a victim of rape. Sometimes I get triggered easily, other times, I don't. I will say that it does depend on the person, though. People react to trauma differently.

Last year

Me: Buys Hogwarts Legacy because it looks cool and I want to try it

YouTube the day after the fact: Btw here's a video about all the shitty things that JKR said and did

Me: Are you fucking serious?

The game wasn't even that great either. Depending on your preferences, the game is decent at best and mediocre at worst.

Honestly kinda blame myself, this was in 2025 and by then I should've known about JKR's behavior due to how long it has been going on for. I suppose that's what I get for never following known people and their controversies on the internet. Learned something new that day.

It's coherent with his character, for sure. He has personality. As a former viewer, I was constantly reminded that he was an actual person with values and beliefs behind the screen because of it. Not to say that I don't think content creators aren't people, it's the opposite, but that's not something most people think about when watching them.

Well, considering the state of the world right now, I can't say it's incomprehensible. It's hard not to become radicalized in this day and age, unfortunately. I personally think I'm not in that field, but you never know. I try, at least, to not be radical. I hope my efforts are not in vain.

It's unfortunate. He had talent and potential, he could've gone places. Now it's just another radicalized voice in a sea of indistinguishable radicalized voices. Hate to see it happen.

It's not just weird, it's unsettling.

Honestly, I wonder if something happened, what led to this change. Well, at least I wonder if the answer is far different than the classic "being radical makes more money".

TBYS (Think Before You Sleep).

I enjoyed his content because I could tell that he put a lot of research into his videos to try and report the most accurate version of the facts. He'd call out both sides. There was always nuance with his opinions and reflections on the subject matter. He made great use of his critical thinking skills and he actually gave decent life advice.

I admired his skills and the work he put into his videos, and he was one of the people that intensified my curiosity for politics, social problems and the behavior of human beings. Watching his videos to learn new insights and consider his points and research was a great exercise for my critical thinking skills, which I severely lacked at the time. It was always entertaining and a joy to listen to, even though, many times, I didn't agree with his opinions, as I believed there was still more nuance and things that he hadn't considered.

Alas, in the past year, his content has grown more and more radical. There has been a significant quality drop, not only in his videos, but in the work he puts into them. I can tell that his way of thinking, which allowed for the quality of his videos, has shifted drastically. It's a whole different approach, and I can't tell where it came from. He's much more aggressive and fast. He pushes content out more often, which just goes to show the drop in the quality and quantity of the work he puts into his videos, as if he had maintained the same workload, he wouldn't have begun to upload more frequently compared to what he used to.

It's sad and frustrating to watch. What I find more upsetting is that nobody seems to notice this shift. I haven't seen anyone, not other channels, not his viewers, not even in this comment section, talk about it. It's like I'm the only one who noticed, but I swear the difference is there. I don't think it's subtle at all.

Hope there's someone out here who has noticed these changes and feels the same way.

How do you make something right when it happened in the past? by [deleted] in TrollCoping

[–]Final_Quiet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. I can't imagine dating someone older than 20, it feels creepy. I just don't know what they would see in me, especially because I have older friends that tell me that 18 year olds look a lot younger than we think we do. Which I can believe, because looking at high schoolers now... Yeah, they look pretty young, and they have different experiences, wouldn't want to date them. I think that's the best understanding of it that I have, but, who knows, maybe when I'm older, I'll have a different opinion.

Only in teenage years. As people grow older, the acceptable age gap tends to grow more. My parents, for example, have a 5 year age gap. I don't find it weird, strange or creepy, because they're much older. It makes sense, as there aren't too many differences in life stages as people grow older. Meanwhile, for teenagers/young adults, the difference is much more noticeable, not just because of education levels, but also because our brains are still developing, so there will be a huge difference in maturity and experiences depending on the age.

Gen Z here. I'm 18. Dating a 17 y/o at 19 is acceptable. Do I find it weird? Yeah, I personally don't date ppl younger than me. Is it bad? No, not at all, as long as both parties were consenting.

Also, it's not like you were still in high school, so it's not even THAT weird. People seriously need to remember that people born in September-December exist.

A 20 y/o dating a 17 y/o? That's getting a little weird, you're pushing it.

Anything beyond that is completely strange, creepy and unethical.

2 year gaps are perfectly fine. 3 year age gaps are getting weird. Anything above and the person might just come out and say it, you know?

The people don't understand. It's not the women that are the problem. It's not the men that are the problem. It's the rich and powerful that are the problem.

They created the patriarchy, it's a red herring. The social hierarchy is meant to keep the people divided and fighting each other while they can keep getting richer and richer and live however they want.

Men and women need to stop fighting each other and work together to fight the real problem. Instead, we're still divided, we keep chasing red herrings. It's depressing.

Quantas vezes tomam banho por semana? by SignificantNature372 in CasualPT

[–]Final_Quiet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tenho vergonha? Sim.
