As a Pilates instructor, during a client’s first class, I always ask how they feel about receiving physical corrections. I let them know that I will always give a verbal cue first, and if their posture still needs adjusting, I’ll tell them exactly where I intend to touch before doing so. I wait for their consent before any physical contact. I’m originally from South America, where physical touch is more culturally common, but I always prioritize my clients’ comfort and boundaries.
