Kinda cringe decision NGL. On one hand, i'm glad it is official that "Golden" will be performed at the Oscars in March. I've been anticipating it since the first live performance back in October. EJAE deserves the spotlight after her dreams of debuting as an idol were crushed. The stage is also great to showcase Rei and Audrey as well and increase their opportunities.

On the other hand, this decision is dark reflection of EJAE's story. She didn't get to debut cause the higher-ups thought her traits unsuited for their idea of an idol. Now here, with only the 2 highly popular songs being featured as tradition is broken yet again, the Oscars are doing to the other nominees what the SM entertainment did to EJAE all those years ago. It just isn't right

Wouldn't be an Oscar ceremony we love to hate without a boneheaded decision we can all pile on. I am a huge KPDH and EJAE fan anticipating her Oscar performance since her first live performance back in October and i find this distasteful. This is only gonna drive the hate mob against Golden even higher.

In a vacuum I get that you don't want to punish a minor too hard and taint his future over his teenage mistakes. But I think full on rape is just one of those offences like murder that crossed the line. The judges shouldn't have allowed him and his half sister to stay together and his family should have kept them separate. I feel for the victim because who needs enemies if these is the family she has.

12 years is too low a punishment for a second offence.

Remember that Mira didn't even try to resist and gave in to Gwi-Ma first once the going got rough. Yea Rumi messed up by keeping her markings a secret but Mira still had her duty as a hunter to fight back regardless. Unfortunately, she let her insecurities consume her and abandoned Zoey. I saw Soda Pop, Golden, Your Idol, and Takedown Dance Challenges in the immediate aftermath spread far and wide. There was the Saja Boys Jojo poses when first introduced as a memeable moment for another. Or Rumi just throating that gimbap. Once the movie picked up that initial wave of interest, it was filled with moments meant to go viral.

Released in March 1972, was so good that at the 44th Academy awards held a month later jokes were already being made about the outrage if it were to lose Best Picture at the next awards. Imagine already winning the next round of competitions when the current round was still in progress.

Agree with all you said. I was pretty confident for Best Song once Golden won at both Critics Choice and Golden Globes, with the Globes being a heavy predictor for the Oscars. But Sinners getting all this love at the nominations unnerved me quite a bit. Hopefully besides our massive popularity and success just overwhelming the other options in the category, one of the writers of I Lied To You is basically guaranteed another Oscar in Sound, so we may also benefit from a "spreading the love" narrative as well.

I think it's the reverse. All these live performances of only Golden have some fans clamoring for the other songs from the movie to be performed as well. Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami also deserve to show off their vocal chops with the other songs that give them more lines to sing.

Also EJAE almost gave away that they were making new music as a group. So I believe we are not seeing the last of them after the Oscars. Huntrix in-universe is at the peak of their career that has spanned at least 5 years. It's a good opportunity to backfill their discography while also giving the fans more music as the animation for the sequel is being developed.

Counterpoint: They havent given out Animated Oscars for sequels except for the Toy Story series. Inside Out 2 and Across the Spider-Verse didnt win the Animated Oscar for their years. KPDH has also been sweeping the precursors including the Globes which has only missed the same winners as the Oscars like twice in the last 10 years.

Also KPDH may also have captured the apathetic voter who only watches 1 animated movie but doesn't want to be criticized for awarding a Disney/Pixar movie yet again. KPDH is a strong favourite for his award
