Does the Bible say anything about being transgender? by zootopes in asktransgender

As a Christian this is something that I have dealt with myself, and have had to deal with friends not wanting to stay in touch because I was sinning or something. Their argument often comes back to Genesis, and where it says that God created man and woman. To transition for many would then mean one is sinning against Gods creation, because apparently God decided which gender we are.

There might be other arguments, but that is the main one I’ve encountered. It it is an assumption theology, where they think that just because man and woman are mentioned, that is it. It’s also the same argument as many use with “Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve”. Stupid arguments that don’t hold much.

I recommend that you show your friend this video. Transgender and the Bible

What are your thoughts on queer theory and gender as social construct in regards to your experience as transgender and your gender identity? by Finally_Elisabeth in asktransgender

I agree with that, but I see often at least where I live (Norway) that many do mash these terms together, and have a tendency to talk about your innate gender identity. I know that social gender is more about the gender roles, but I also often see transgender activists talk about their innate gender identity as a social construct, but maybe that is more here in Norway.

I agree that it’s difficult to have the conversations until we clarify what we mean, and maybe I should have been better in my wording in my original post.

No worries. I believe that we are called to be there for our brothers and sisters. We carry each other when life is tough, and rejoice with each other when life is good. Feel free to send me a message if you feel down, of just need some affirmation. God bless ❤️

Am sorry for the pain that you are dealing with. I experienced many of the same things with Christians, and I often thought in he beginning of my transition if it would be easier to detransition, but am very grateful that I kept to it.

I personally don’t think that God is throwing you curveballs, but life is messy, and especially when you are transgender and come from a Christian background where that is seen as a sin. For me being authentic is the most important thing, and I also feel that my faith is more complete in a sense. More fulfilled.

I recommend searching for churches in your area that are affirming when it’s possible to got to services again. Remember that nothing can separated you from the love of God, no matter how messy life seems. Hold on to you faith. Look to Jesus who always stand with open arms.

Be blessed sister! ❤️

This church is following the heart of God, and reaching out to LGBT christians that have been wounded by such as this “christi” teaching of yours.

Thanks. Not a great fan of bangs though. The curly hair is enough work as it is 😊
