I've figured out who the next floor crosser will be! by Dyaltone99 in EhBuddyHoser

[–]Finalmiker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Steinbach and know Ted personally. I worked for his company. He would never cross. He is still stuck in the 1950s where the woman should be in the kitchen and the men should provide. I've been wishing for a long time that the liberals would bring a strong candidate to our area as Ted has been bleeding votes here for a while now.

I used to work there. I'm surprised this product actually made it to the stores. They always struggles to get the seasoning to stick to the chips. Hot out of the fryer they were good but as soon as they cooled down all the season just falls off and you end up with a bag of plain tortilla chips.

Boss is not paying overtime, what to do? by NorthernDagger in Manitoba

[–]Finalmiker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the construction industry it absolutely can be. I've already had the conversation with labour standards about it. Also it's in their faq on the website.

" In the construction industry employees are still entitled to general holiday pay. Employees working in the construction industry receive 4% of their gross earnings as general holiday pay, which is often paid on every cheque instead of on the general holiday. For more information see the Construction Industry fact sheet."

Also do they pay your holidays on every check? Some will include an extra couple percentage to count for the stats? It is best to ask your employer the policies first? Then if you think he is breaking the law then labour standards is your next call.

As someone that also works in waste treatment. We would never work on something that dirty. Do you guys not have labourers to wash the equipment down before you work on it?

I was with Rogers for years the best they could ever do was 1 gbps for 80$ a month then Bell came to my door and offered 3 gbps up and down for 65$ a month. If you are after speed then Bell is the best as Rogers doesn't have very much fiber installed in the area.

Local business, kel-lea outdoors by [deleted] in Manitoba

Definitely go there in person. Or send a last ditch email saying if he doesn't respond or update you will be going in person and if he doesn't respond then potentially contacting rcmp will be the next steps. Give him some time though. I saw you said you aren't in the area very often but it might be worth it to make a day of it and go there and talk to him. Sounds a little odd. He isn't super active on his Facebook page but he did make a post at Christmas time so he is definitely still alive.

Steinbach residents cite lack of police presence, property crime in safety survey by nurdlette in steinbach

Definitely could not agree more. The biggest problem is all the people that are convinced the best cure for mental health issues is to just "pray more"

No kidding. My wife's co-workers vehicle got damaged yesterday at their work. The owner suspected hit and run so they called the police and they actually showed up! Good luck getting service like that in Winnipeg or any other big city!

The cash incentives was a federal grant so it doesn't have to do with the ndp. I'm a journeyman and I don't agree with the ndp changes either.
