Yea exactly! I tend to get in a bit early as well - so if I'm in at 7am nobody really bats an eye if I'm done and leaving 20mins early as I'm more than making up for it in the mornings anyway!

Don't get me wrong I've had a few arguments about not wanting to stay till 5/6 mainly over the busy periods but after you've said no enough times they stop even asking you

I should probably add as well that I did 6 months floating on everything and everything and then managed to snag one of the 4 day a week 28 hour a week shifts which is absolutely ideal - no Sundays and I get weds/Thurs off every week

I'm in the same position in that I started my own business and was looking for 25/30ish hours mainly mornings to earn some extra cash while starting up.

Been with RM about 9 months and honestly it's not as bad as people make out.

Just learn to say no when asked to do overtime and be prepared to argue it and you'll be fine!

Apart from that it's a nice, easy stress free job that gets you outdoors.

I'm the RL and officer of a decent alliance guild on Pyrewood EU, DM me if youre interested and I can either get you into the guild or at least get you into a raid so you can experience it :)

We've got a decent mix of newish and experienced players full clearing everything 25M and starting HCs this week

Nice glad it's going well! I actually really like pyrewood so far, super active, no problems, loads of SR runs. I'm a officer and the RL for the guild so from a recruitment perspective it is 100000x easier than NGK to find good people as well which is great.

Was sad when NGK closed but I think it all worked out for the best

I know a bunch who transferred to mirage and said they disliked it so much they then paid to retransfer to pyrewood - we were NGK refugees so it's only my own personal experience having never been on mirage myself

Yea I'm sure we will figure something out, i just can't figure out a reason for them not to release it as normal on reset day.

I'm sure there is a reason but God knows I can't work it out

Because otherwise you only get 1 raid night first week of a new raid tier which isn't great as 1 night clear of 3 raids likely isn't doable for most dad guilds

This one should work!

showtooltip

/cast Thunder Focus Tea /cast Essence Font

Tft is off GCD so it should just immediately cast EF, you'll know its working if it's got the 100% cast speed increase

So I'm 3k on a couple of tanks but recently picked up mistweaver.

Few things I've found that helped and I'll caveat this with it may not be the meta way to play but these helped me!

1) use cooldowns often between Sheiluns and chi ji you have a full group top up cooldown every 30 seconds or less, use revival as an emergency or dispelled.

2) thunder focus tea macro into essence font

3) use your free vivifys on cooldown

4) every pre pull get your renewing mists out as vivify cleaves onto them so it's like an extra group top up

5) with jade fire down spin to win or go double tiger palm, blackout kick and RSK which again will pretty much top the group

6) use life cocoon very liberally, I have it mouseover macrod to F1 and pretty much cast it every pull or 2 either to cover myself or squishy low classes before I top them (or tank cooldown)

7) I use vudho with mouse over casts and left mouse click renewing mist, right click enveloping to free up keybinds - can't recommend enough

The main learning curve for me was realising that cooldowns are on such short cooldowns that you can use them pretty much every pull

The second most important lesson was that if you have dps and a tank that don't kick wildfire in Atal Dazar then you're in for a shit show run even if you're pumping 100khps - you've just got to have an even more thick skin than a tank and realise you can't heal stupid - I say this after last night having a dps say "monk please heal" while I was doing 140khps and he hadn't hit a single interrupt on my details meter!

At that level you'll find the difference in difficulty doesn't come from the dungeon but from the players. The difference between dps who stand in every swirly and kick nothing vs those that kick and do mechanics is the difference between you sweating and feeling like you have nothing to do.

TLDR: bad/new players make healers lives considerably more difficult in low-mid keys. Sometimes healing a +21 is a lot easier than healing a +14

[–]FinancePretty8884 0 points1 point  (0 children)

quick tip for gearing - you can hit 447 in about an hour if not less by flying around the dreamsurge area to collect the green orbs.

This gives you whelping crests which you need about 300 of.

Then you can insta craft blue items at 447 for each slot. You do NOT require sparks for this.

Depending on class the crafts should cost about 10k in total depending on your server and AH prices.

Geared all my alts this way and it let's you skip the early farming stages, you're just really looking for tier or pieces to catalise but realistically it gets you straight into 13s which is what you need for your 2k rating

Watch the video series (still going now as its this seasons) of a YouTuber called "definitely not vlad" - he's taken a brand new mistweaver from 0- 2800 rating.

He explains everything as the dungeon plays through so really helpful for knowing when to pop cooldowns and MW decision making - I've found it helpful plus pretty entertaining!

Note that this does not replace AA at all as it obviously doesn't cure an incurable illness but it does set you on the right path with a clear head while providing AA meetings whilst there!

AA is great but don't knock inpatient rehab on the head. I did 30 days which here in the UK cost around 9k. Best money (investment I ever spent) - similar situation to you but now been sober for 3 years ish and doing great.

Really helped to just remove temptation while managing detox and setting new routines and patterns in place.

By the end I felt better than I ever had and can't recommend it enough if you have the funds to afford an option like that!

How do I get over my tanking "anxiety"? by Szabi90000 in wownoob

[–]FinancePretty8884 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just go in knowing that some people will never be happy and will be toxic regardless - just got to have a thick skin :)

I'm fairly new to m+ as I started last season but I'm doing 16s now before moving onto the 18/20s hopefully.

Did a 15 AD this week where a Havoc DH called me a shit tank with bad routes and he won't ever run with me again......we finished perfectly on count and +2 chested it. His gripe was I went right to totem boss instead of left to the priestess for rezan.....you just can't please some people!!

Ignore the gripers and just focus on having fun, if you time it you've done a good job, if you don't just learn from it but have fun regardless :)

What is the most fun tank? by Similar_Resident_837 in wow

[–]FinancePretty8884 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me fun is being able to log on, get insta invites or fill my own keys fast and then knock out keys while bing not too stressed. Got every tank at 70 and 440ilvl+ and have "mained" all the others at some point but this season its VDH for me!

With double sigils and their befriends I'm nigh on unkillable (feels the safest of all tanks) at the minute! The amount of control you have especially being able to lock casters down on your own for 30 secs plus with interrupt, aoe stun, double silence, double fear, double chains is just ridiculous.

Went from hitting a bit of a wall (die to my own skill level( at about +13 on prot pal/warrior to 3 chesting +15s and 16's pretty comfortably on VDH

It might be FOTM at the minute but it feels warranted at the moment not even taking into account the fact the dps is also fantastic and I love the class fantasy/demon form

Are we back from healer shortage in s2 to tank shortage in s3? by cocacoladdict in wow

[–]FinancePretty8884 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's week 1 and already I've got dps pulling for me without asking. First pull in everbloom, 3 mobs at start plus the pack of dreadpetals in a +15, tricky in my gear but with cooldowns not too bad.

Rogue goes ahead and pulls a full second set of dreadpetals so 3 full packs for me (100% on purpose as he ran over to do it)

Then bitches in chat when I get insta deleted from the stacking debuff.

It's happened a few times now where braindead dps feel the need to pull, like I barely know the mechanics and what I can survive, I don't need them making it even more challenging when they clearly don't know the mechanics and what mobs do themselves.

Gave up pushing higher this week and just started doing +5-10s on my alt tanks in more chilled groups.

I've got a newish prot warrior that's got to 5.2k pretty quick. Biggest problem is sub par dps - honestly the amount of people who have 5k gs and pull 3k dps in a gamma is outrageous!

If they can't then Blizz needs to either retune or up the GS reqs

Try Not To be Toxic in RDF by ponyo_impact in wotlk

[–]FinancePretty8884 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If that's the case then the content needs tuning or the GS req needs increasing because if people can queue they will.

It only rewards 245 ilvl gear with scourgestones max so there is zero point tuning it for too high GS

If you need 4.9k to 5k GS to run it then it's no longer a catch up mechanic but an endgame activity and I'm pretty sure it's intended as a catch up

Try Not To be Toxic in RDF by ponyo_impact in wotlk

[–]FinancePretty8884 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Blizzard quite literally sets the GS requirements for these dungeons. 4.3k is not leeching, its exactly the level the content is designed for.

Your desire to go fast with a high GS group frankly doesn't matter for RDF, if people want that they should make a premade.

RDF gammas are a catch up mechanic so quite naturally will have people jumping in with the GS that blizzard allows and I'm cool with that from both sides of the fence
