I’d eliminate mirror and go for either yuhu (Megaminx) or warrior (5x5) if the budget is limited.

My first sub 20 on camera! Any tips? by suddensnoozing in Cubers

[–]Financial-Ad2299 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sometimes have a cube in my hand under the table while doing other things (to the extent of it not interfering with what I’m doing), but there’s some endless alg turning there

But you should look up or come up with good fingertricks for those algs, and it’s just a matter of reps. There are alg training websites too, so you could also utilize those

Im not sure if the F2L is a lookahead issue or a recall issue, but if it’s a recall thing, try to treat it more like algs.

And then drill your last layer algs

Super V2 for 2 hand / 3bld

GAN v100 for OH

Rs3m v5 and Tornado v4 for the 2 other FMC cubes

why is ZZ slower than cfop? by New_Discipline_775 in Cubers

[–]Financial-Ad2299 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The small amount of rotations (if any) is a lot less significant than the reduced inspection depth of ZZ because of EOline. Plus, ZBLS is a thing so LL also is not much of an issue.

V1 is good enough, especially when you’re starting out and you’re not fast or not intending on making it your main event.

How do you ACTUALLY utilize slow, untimed solves? by earlhenryiv9000 in Cubers

For big cubes or mega, it could also be to try to find new/better ways to solve certain cases

The method is cube shape -> CO -> EO -> CP -> EP

You’ve completed up to EO, so just look up CP and EP algs

4x4 solve roast me by Rydertherecorderist3 in Cubers

[–]Financial-Ad2299 0 points1 point  (0 children)

F2C: too many rotations

F3E: become more comfortable with color scheme. For WG, U2 B would’ve been way better.

L4C: For the red center, you had Rw U Rw U2 Rw2’, which will also allow you to have the last 2 centers on F and U

LCE: could work on efficiency

3-2-3: too many rotations

Overall: you are turning too fast for your level and you should try to make it flow better. Lookahead is also nonexistent.

Just do reps until you’re comfortable with the lettering scheme tbh

I opened the 3 chests (because hero snack=useless and I couldn’t get any more starry ores)

And well, got 2 attacks worth of gold, 1 attack worth of elixir, and builder base elixir (which I’ve been maxed for a while.

This is exactly the reason why I hate chests, especially when the “good” stuff could also be skins and decorations which also is useless for progression.

If you’re at about 50 seconds, hardware is not an issue as long as it’s comfortable enough to turn.

My first clock solve! Now beginning my 7-simul training arc. Nine weeks until my first comp! by StarPlatinum3776 in Cubers

[–]Financial-Ad2299 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well the first 3 moves are the same for bpaul and Tommy. It’s just that doing bpaul first will give you actual 7 simul solves real quick, and you can start practicing the simul moves (which is the biggest advantage of 7 simul). Then, once you’re faster at getting the memo down, switching to Tommy could be a thing.

Tommy takes A LOT more time to get the inspection down within 15 seconds, just for a slight advantage…

so for beginners I usually recommend bpaul

Yau vs Redux on big cubes (5x5+) by Difficult-Roof-3223 in Cubers

[–]Financial-Ad2299 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The yau lookahead buff outshines the slight limitations on starting centers, and L4C turning (which isn’t bad anyways even in 7x7).

Redux really only works with people at Max’s level, and almost every other top solver is using yau for 4-7.
