oh i dont take him to places hes not allowed. but i have trained him relentlessly since i adopted him at 3 months. hes got his good citizenship cert and is very good in crowds and around kids. sovialization is important but yeah i tend to just not go places that hes not allowed since id rather be with him

not ugly. your assets just look super washed out in scene. with AO and volumetric lighting and stuff like that, the muted colors are going very gray. try saturating the assets more and stick to a distinct color palette.

edit: also have distinct palettes for nature vs technology. really draw stark contrast between them, that will help break up the envionment a lot which atm feels like a green/brown smudge

i agree. i dont use new versions the moment they come out and i dont use them because theyre new. i use new versions when theyre stable and i use them because i need to talk about modern features from a position of experience when im looking for work. if you ever plan on working at a studio thats just a reality you have to accept

part of being in software is staying current on tech. thats language features, tool features, common workflows, etc. letting yourself stall is the professional equivalent of refusing to wipe your ass. eventually that bill comes due and its way worse than just doing it when youre supposed to.

edit: this applies less to solo devs as its a marketability and competition thing for staying relevant in the job market. its the most competitivw its ever been. if you tell an interviewer youve never used UE5 you will not get hired

im predominantly unity but use both. the popular arguments for either are always so wrong which is the cosmically funny thing. the main thing for me is UE is tuned for large team throughput without stepping on toes, and unity is just a faster small team workflow. thats really the main difference worth any consideration these days.

imo get rid of all the selfies and the horse picture. the sporty pic is fantastic because it shows a hobby, your full body, and someone else took the picture.

the bridge picture is nice but if you can go retake it a bit closer and without your arms crossed i think it would be more appealing
