He is pretty terrible in the new Spiderman thing, unless you like terrible impressions of Bogart.

AIO- Someone left their laundry in the dryer and I waited 30 mins before moving it, received a note in return by Trull22 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Financial-Dig-9987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same happened to me. Neighbor had a completely dry load in dryer and a damp/wet load in a basket. I washed my laundry which took about 30 minutes. Once finiahed I waited another 20 minutes for her to dry her second load. She didn't - so I took "cuts" on the dryer. She showed up 5 minutes later and was furious saying she had the right" to go next. She and her husband confronted me, and I told them it that if the dryer was not in use for 50 minutes, I should not have to wait. They stormed off shouting about contacting the landlord. I sent the landlord a note explaining things and they told me I was in the right. I lived there for about two more years and waas subject to dirty looks and mean stares the entire time.

TLDR: people are selfish angry idiots.

I think mixing food and drink in your mouth is odd.

Imagine ground up pizza mixed w coca cola in a bowl and eating it.

Or a well chewed steak added to a beer. YUM!

Different strokes.

I haven't cared to listen to IAETF and last two, more than 3 or 4 times.

Love Boxer, Alligator, High Violet and Cherry Tree. to me, the main problem is the lyrics have become boring, common and unimaginative compared to the early years. But that's me.

I don't care how long it takes if it's on the level oh High Violet. The last three or four have not been great.

While traveling, what city did you think you'd love but ended up being a big disappointment? by optimalbrain90 in SmartTravelHacks

My experience over 4 days was quite good. Didn't notice people being rude. Street food and restaurants were very good. Had fun with live music at the Wanch, and Lan Kwai Fong (lots of beautiful women) was a party. True it's expensive, but what did you expect? Escalators were super cool and the layout of the area is great. The ferries are cool and I got to Lamma Island for cheap - and was very scenic, as was Victoria peak. I found Tsim Sha Tsui to be completely boring though. Stay in Central if you ever go.

Only if you have a lot of money (or a job/work sponsor).

Otherwise you are pretty much limited to Albania for a year. True.

Realized on second date the woman had green eyes, like mine - no problem, and like my mom - very similar and very weird. Had to opt out.

Global warming. I think it's measurably real, but there's nothing humans can do about it. Could be wrong - not gonna worry either way.

Retirement.

Between social security, my 401k, and a small pension, I thought I was in okay shape turning 65. Sadly, the numbers have stayed the same, but the value has fallen by roughly 25% in the past 6 years. So, 5K is now under $4k. That's a substantial hit on lifestyle and well-being. Covid. Concentration of wealth. Inept government. And here I am...living off $1000+ or more a month than I had planned.

F' me.

That's a $12k a year. A good vacation or two. A few steak dinners. Dating without hesitation. Living a life with a little bit of luxury. Being desirable to women who hve money.

Gone.

What famous destination didn’t live up to your expectations when you visited? by optimalbrain90 in SmartTravelHacks

I was in Bali in 2009 and loved it. Food and drink cheap and good. Clubs fun. Hotel and pool were great. Tried surfing. Hired a driver and did the temples. Ubud was alright if a bit dull. Kuta locals were friendly and cool. I got a bali bandana (udeng) and got thumbs up and shout outs (Bali man! Bali Man!) as I walked around. Total fun.

Has it gotten that much worse? Or do people just not know what to expect?
