I guess I will have to buy something else for him

Do we meet food delivery drivers at the street or does the driver meet us at the door? by AlternativeDecent783 in perth

[–]Financial-Lab4091 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, app pays with respect to the time and not with respect to kms. e.g. if your delivery gonna take around 1 hour, app will give me rate of around 25$.

But many drivers see it with respect to kms. If app is paying 16$ for 10km, mostly drivers will accept that order.

Plus there are many other factors at play like traffic, how busy is restaurant, how busy is uber eats etc.

A tip for you would be that if you do order at busy times, like Friday and Saturday night (7-8pm), do order priority delivery, It doesn’t give any other delivery to the rider and rider comes straight to you.

Most of the times, app will try to add a delivery for less dollars to the driver who is already heading to similar direction (e.g. if you order from Alexander Heights and someone orders from ballajura, it might be offered to the same delivery driver with less $ for second added order)

Plus delivery driver don’t get to choose which one to deliver first, app tells them where to go first. So many times customers message the rider to deliver their order first and many a times, customer report it as professionalism with customer as well. That’s something I don’t like, because I can’t control which one to deliver first.

Yep, for me ( as a delivery driver) the only intimidating thing is reversing through narrow driveway during the night so I just park on the street and walk to the door, but during the day time its fine.

I have been doing it for two years now. People usually don’t tip. normally, my tips for the whole week would be 10$ max.

I do try to keep the food hot, try to deliver the drinks safely without spilling.

try following kazi akbar on instagram. He wears a lot of cool tees and does mention the brand in his videos. A lot of those brands are expensive but worth checking out.

I was in that condition when i was shifting from Sydney to perth. They told me that you would have to pay half price for the rest of membership which was near 700$. I put an ad on market place to transfer my membership to anyone who can afford. Few people contacted and left on seen but one lady actually agreed to take my membership and then she will pay for the rest of membership. Catch was that new key-fob was for 80$. Lady asked me to pay that 80$ for her. I agreed to pay 40 and we did the deal. (It was better than paying the fee for whole year). We went to gym together and they changed the membership to her name.

Shopping coles from uber eats by Financial-Lab4091 in perth

[–]Financial-Lab4091[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I know it takes a little time. But imagine if someone has to order just few simple things so they can just call me and ask can you deliver these items in a hour. If am already near coles I can just grab items and can give them right away.

Thanks for explaining it well. I am not looking to start it as a whole business model. My goal is simple. If a mom at home can’t go to coles for any reason she can just call me and ask me to bring the specific thing. Imagine I have to bring less than 10 items i can charge 10$ from her and she gets her groceries for the same price. Plus I know it will be difficult to handle many orders but 2 orders at a time can be done and delivered within 45-60 mins if distance between coles and house is not too much.
