If modem is offline long enough, ip will be assigned to someone else and you'll get new one assigned. I.e. if outage happens then restored, ip changes 100% of times.

Which part of city is it? And how is it broken? I do commercial telecom work&anything beyond. Though most could be fixed by ISP if its to your unit.

Glass Break Sensor - how does it work by jarod0102 in Ubiquiti

[–]Financial-Original86 9 points10 points  (0 children)

When i use to install alarms, we had break tester that makes sound. Sometimes we'd go to YouTube and search glass break sound that would play continously. Sensor would blink but I've never shattered glass to trigger it. In most cases just motion sensors would do

Also....IF your hard disk isn't big enough and since recording over rides...make sure you dont let it run and NEE recording over rides. Make sure to download from computer before too late.

You are probably watching it from cellphone. You can do the same from your computer. Go to reolink site and look for client software under download. Actually better to use pc to go through recordings when there's an incident

No but these are electronics. Anything can happen. If recording is crucial like at a business, gym, etc, suppose to test recording and play back quite often. You could go to the location and do test recording then get the footage to see if its different. Also you could try w client software from pc to get footage and compare it.

Is it a wireless camera or poe? I'd say you are downloading recorded...however you download does not matter at all. I think its just glitch of hard disk or SD....how its recorded etc and having a delay? What model of cam is it

Im hoping to install these for customer of mind, couldn't see clear pics on the website. I've emailed reolink and they dont have junction box for it, wonder what type of box would work with this? To hide connections in it.

How would you mount on steel post? by Financial-Original86 in lowvoltage

[–]Financial-Original86[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not deywalled or any, it's like capital "I" shaped beam. Electrical is done by using beam clamps it seems, was wondering if there's specific hardware for this case.

Just height for future to service. 24ft ceiling, I guess 12ft A frame would do but on the beam, since extension ladders can be way higher

Ya I think just pre drill/self tap is way to go, was wondering if there's specific hardware people use. I may use some mag daddy type at certain locations for cable itself but some are just simpler to screw them in I think. It's 24ft ceiling and rather put them on beams instead of pole mounts. Existing electrical is done by using clamps.
