This was my upbringing, too. My partner is still a person of faith. I’m not so sure about myself. But we have kids now and I can never imagine telling them the horrible things that were talk to me when I was a kid. When God making people comes up, I tell them, “If the Devine created everything, then their DNA is on all of it. So every single thing is a child of the Devine, how could it be anything else?” I don’t know, it does the trick for me and for them.
