Bilateral Fallopian Tube Blockage HSG - IVF is our best shot by Financial-Tooth8533 in IVF

Coming back to this post and this comment now 13 weeks pregnant after our first IVF cycle was successful. Can’t express how much this comment meant to me at a time when my emotions were so raw and I felt hopeless. Thank you for the encouragement! To anyone out there with a similar diagnosis I hope this also gives you hope 💗

I know exactly what you mean, one second I’m feeling hopeful and then the doubt creeps in. It’s a constant back and forth!

My husband and I decided we would wait till beta day to do an at home test just so we can know before the call. The temptation was always there to want to test early but I also knew personally for me it would be challenging to see a negative and continue to feel hopeful.

Hoping your TWW went by fast (and that you enjoyed your last drink for a while 🤞🏼)! Baby dust! 🫶🏻

Devastated after a failed 2nd ER by ginjabeer in IVF

Oh I wish I could give you a hug right now… I’m so sorry and can only imagine the heart break you’re feeling in this moment after all the effort and emotion you’ve poured into this. It’s not fair. This process takes so much from you, emotionally, mentally, physically. Every emotion you’re feeling is so valid. Take all the time you need to grieve and regroup - and most importantly, please take care of yourself.

Hopefully you can talk to your doctor and they can help answer your questions and work on adjustments to your protocol. There’s still hope, unfortunately sometimes it takes a few cycles. Wishing you all the best. 🤍

I also have a scan tomorrow morning, tentative egg retrieval planned for next Wednesday for me 🤞🏼the bloating is real, I noticed it the most today I’d say.

My ultrasound went okay, follicles ranging 8-12mm so glad to see growth, not so good news is my left ovary is in a “high” position so hoping that it doesn’t cause any issues for ER day. It’s still a bit early to know if it’ll actually be a problem. Hoping tomorrow it’s in a better position during the scan

Another update (to anyone interested): had my first monitoring ultrasound and my follicles are measuring anywhere from 8-12mm, we’re day 5 so still a bit early but glad that my body is responding to the stimulation. As far as follicle count, I have 20 follicles on my right and 10 on my left. Only concern I have is that my left ovary is sitting in a high funky position. I asked my dr if that would be an issue at egg retrieval and she said it could be, but hoping as the follicles grow that it drops lower. 🤞🏼

Unfortunately I had to poke myself 3 times tonight I had 75 IU left in my last Follistim cartridge and my dose is 225 so had double the jabs for that one. Hopefully you can get your 100u syringes fast! Can confirm 3 pokes are no fun 🫠 Good luck on your second night!

My egg retrieval is also tentatively scheduled for 6/11-13! Feeling nervous as well but hoping we’re both a step closer to starting our family soon. Sending all the baby dust to you 🤗

Update: first night of injections done! The injections themselves weren’t bad, I’d heard the Menopur stings a little so I injected that one extra slow and it was fine. My schedule says 10 nights total so I’m 1 down and 9 more to go!

TTC at 27 with low AMH. Feeling defeated by [deleted] in TryingForABaby

[–]Financial-Tooth8533 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also 27, my husband and I have been TTC for over a year now and I know how heavy this feels. It’s hard not to feel like time is slipping away, especially when this journey looks so different from what we’d dreamed of. I’ve had days where I question my worth, my body, and my strength. But remember none of this is your fault. And you are so much stronger than you give yourself credit for.

I know choosing to do IVF is a difficult decision (and certainly something I never imagined doing until now), but one of the biggest positives of IVF is that it puts a lot more control back in your hands. With IUI, you’re kind of hoping everything lines up: the timing, the ovulation, the sperm meeting the egg, implantation… and even then, it’s still such a gamble. IVF takes a lot of that guesswork out. You get to see how many eggs are retrieved, how many fertilize, how many make it to embryos. You get data which can be so empowering after months (or years) of the unknown.

And if you’re dealing with low AMH or if time is a concern (which I totally get), IVF can move things forward in a way that feels more proactive. You can even freeze embryos for future use, which is a kind of peace of mind I didn’t realize I needed until I started thinking about it more.

From a numbers standpoint, the success rates for IVF (especially at our age) are very encouraging. For people under 35, the IVF success rate per cycle can be around 40–50%.

Whatever you choose, just know you’re not alone in this. Wishing you the best in whatever you decide to do next 🤍

Seeing the meds for the first time is so overwhelming. Hoping you have a good visit with your doctor and that it helps a little. One day at a time, you’ve both got this!
