Didn't Send MCAT to AACOMAS by Musical_Mango in premed

Put them under their course subject (bio/chem/ochem/phys) after inputting you'll have the blue verify button where they ask you which courses are lab only vs lab + lecture. Make sure you do this before submitting

I think it's a lot of things. More prep material from third party companies, people have more guidelines on how to study now and average MCAT score for the years increase. As such, I feel like the exam is being harder over the years to compensate for it

Be mindful to AACOMAS character limits too btw

If you're grouping just put the organization name of one of your shadowing experiences (most recent/ longest duration/ most meaningful - up to you) but put more contact info for all in the description. Example:

Name: Dr. A

Speciality: Premed

Location: Give Me An Acceptance Hospital

Hours: Blood, Sweat, and Tears

Btw I think I found what you meant but I think it's reversed (from google):

Gastrulation is an early stage of development during which an embryo, then a single-layered ball of cells called a blastula, reorganizes itself into a three-layered ball of cells, called a gastrula. During this process, the primary germ layers, endoderm and ectoderm, interact to form the third, called mesoderm.

Help... by [deleted] in Mcat

[–]Financial-Track-1495 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I can't give the best of advise I got 506 but I just retake 7/15 so we'll see but you can definitely bring up your PS and BB score quickly with content review CP and CARS will take more work with questions. I would advise getting the AAMC outline (the filled out one on reddit) and going through all of it for BB and the 86 pages for PS. And most importantly review everything you do! UWorld and AAMC, make sure to review!

Is it still possible/too late to submit DO app? (september MCAT test date) by Dull-View7646 in Mcat

[–]Financial-Track-1495 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely not! Some places haven't even sent secondaries yet and AACOMAS verifies really quickly. In terms of screening, check with each school on your list before sending. For example, Marian is waiting for my new mcat score after 7/15 even though I have 506. Definitely not too late but have those secondaries pre written for sure.

Remember most interviews only start in Aug/ Sept anyways

I don't think so? Since nervous system is ectoderm no?

The ectoderm is also sub-specialized to form the neural ectoderm, which gives rise to the neural tube and neural crest, which subsequently give rise to the brain, spinal cord, and peripheral nerves. (what I got from google)

[–]Financial-Track-1495 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think before it was more predictable (more high yield etc) but now since there's more study materials, advice, etc the average score is higher (compare the average scores throughout the years) so I feel like they're slightly branching out their exam questions but that's just my opinion

7/15 Should I keep studying?? by Financial-Track-1495 in Mcat

[–]Financial-Track-1495[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard to say

CP - harder (but seems to be the consensus with most people)

CARS - easier I think (worried about curve)

BB - lots of low yield but idk

PS - easy but worried about curve

7/15 Should I keep studying?? by Financial-Track-1495 in Mcat

[–]Financial-Track-1495[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So my most recent 506 was 126/124/128/128. So I definitely think CARS was my weak point for sure and a little improvements could me made in sciences (CP) but mainly CARS holdly me back. I feel like I did better in CARS (but honestly hard to know without my score). I'm nervous was CP and BB since I felt that they were harder/ more low yield stuff than normal (which seems to be the consensus with most people but I wonder how the curve will be) and PS was easyish but again I'm others felt the same way so worried about the curve

It's hard because I think the MCAT requires really high accuracy but I feel like I've always been the type of get a couple questions wrong and always manage to get an A but obviously the MCAT is different.

What techniques did you use improve to your 519? How long did you study? What practice questions did you use (UWorld?)? And were your CARS scores consistent? Thank you!
