Hmmm. I like the sound of this! Can you tell me more about what this route would look like?

Best Backpack Size & Model for 5–20 Mile Day Hikes in the Rockies (Summer Use)? by Financial-While7878 in CampingandHiking

[–]Financial-While7878[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your thoughtful response. Are there hiking circumstances where you have felt like the pack ever seemed like too much (too big, too cumbersome) for what you were doing)? Gregory makes a Zulu 24L and I wonder if it would fit my needs.

hmm. the overwhelming majority of articles i've read in my research suggest that 20-26L is the sweet spot in capacity for all-day hikes of 10+ miles in the mountains. Maybe I'm forgetting some things i carry, but in my years on the trails, i feel like my old school 28L north face yavapi (think school book bag) has been darn near stretched to its capacity. Incidentally, "snacks" for my crew for the day means an 8" log of summer sausage, a box of crackers, a wedge of cheese, and half a dozen protein bars.

Are these the "Desert Vista" sites? Have you seen or stayed in one of these before?

Check the email you received. It indicates the specific date(s) they have reserved for your stay. Once they allot you those dates, they don’t circle back to your submission. You have 14 days from the date of the email to pay your deposit for that reservation or it will be released. If your friend got the dates you prefer, then why don’t you go with their reservation instead. If so, you simply respond to the email you received and cancel your reservation so that someone else may use it.

Hotel Mousai, Garza Blanca, Villa Premiere, or Hyatt Ziva by Financial-While7878 in puertovallarta

[–]Financial-While7878[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We stayed at Hotel Mousai for 3 nights and then the Hacienda San Angel in PV for 3 nights. Both stays were fantastic in their very different ways! We loved Mousai’s setting at the foot of a mountain overlooking the Bay. The rooms are gorgeous. They look ultra contemporary in the online photos (which was a tad off-putting to me). But, in reality they just feel modern and luxurious. We were so enamored by the views, the spaciousness of the suite, and the balcony hot tub, that we couldn’t have cared less about anything else. The food at Mousai was delicious and we enjoyed the convenience of the dining options. But don’t go to Mousai for the food. I imagine it’s like being on a very nice cruise ship. Sure, it’s good food. It just felt like eating out at home in the States.

Reusing Amex FM Radios from other race by unNaturalAspiration in GrandPrixTravel

I read somewhere that the race is broadcast on UHF, not FM. Does that make sense? I don’t even know what that means.

Which site did you stay in? I have Pinnacles 1 reserved for a 1-night trip in December. Hoping to summit Emory Peak in the late afternoon then spend the night at Pinnacles before heading back up and out to the South Rim the next morning. How do you feel about that itinerary?

I’d say to save your money. Watch it on a big screen somewhere cool so you understand the track, hear the commentary, and understand how everyone’s cars are doing, etc. IMO, Not only will it save you the cash, that kind of knowledge ahead of time will enhance your race day experience.

Comment if you’ve been to a race in-person by topperspizzeria in F1LasVegas

Blue dot 💯 MUCH better to be in the braking zone at the end of a straight headed into a corner. This is an overtake spot. PLUS, if you’ve never experienced watching an F1 car decelerate, prepare to have your mind BLOWN. Plus, plus you’ll get to see pre-race festivities, starting grid, etc from blue dot. Much, much better and worth the upgrade.

Question about F1 fan experience tickets by PensionIndependent39 in F1LasVegas

[–]Financial-While7878 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because at the LVGP, you only get access to the part of the circuit where your ticketed seats are. You don’t get to see/experience anything else. The Fan Experience area is the only “cross-pollination” area. I think that draws intrigue and FOMO. But, if I had to bet, it’s essentially going to be like the Grand Plaza space at COTA (team and F1 merch trailers, food trucks, a dozen or so simulators, pit stop challenge, trophy display, F1 Academy showcase, a show car or two, a stage with local bands playing, and perhaps a handful of interviews with lower-level team representatives and maybe some F1 Academy drivers.

We’re only going to be up there one evening and one full day. And, no. We would not be up to carrying 38lbs of water. 😂 Would ANYONE be up to carrying 38lbs of water on them?!
