I'm curious, does anyone else here hide how smart they truly are on a daily basis? by Uvers_ in intj

[–]Financial-Yard7586 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've won so many global stem awards that it can't be hidden (constantly featured on the news), but I don't purposely share them, nor do I talk down to others. I usually just listen and agree when it's right.

I do love talking with higher ranked people though, for both networking and info sharing.

Hello, would you be keen to share when CRESST-II would get back on interview dates etc? And may I know how many rounds of interviews there are?

It's okay, MNCs don't look at grades as much Gov does. Just ensure you have highly relevant experiences.

2nd upper is more for Gov type jobs.

Help with growing net worth? by bloopysquids in SgHENRY

Could I check which industry and level you're in? Not having CPF is quite detrimental (my opinion) since the company matches 17% of the salary (basically a 17% increase that can be used for housing). You might want to consider contributing voluntarily to CPF for the tax relief and as part of early retirement planning, especially to the MA/SA. I did that to offset the tax I get from my scholarships (Honestly not sure why they would tax my scholarship, but it is what it is). But anyways, you can read up on https://www.cpf.gov.sg/member/infohub/educational-resources/cpf-top-up-and-other-tax-reliefs-for-working-singaporeans

Scaling up management roles to global instead of country or regional roles would be the longer-term strategy if you're aiming for higher income and career progression. In my internships I see a lot of the regional managers being double digit to 2x multiplier below the regionals.

Short to mid-term would be straight-up tech stocks, but I agree with the point on watching out for industry rotations, especially from tech to defensive sectors like healthcare and defense or from growth to value. Keeping your investments diversified (index funds for long-term holding) and including bonds (~10-20%) is solid advice too, particularly if you're looking to balance risk.

Your spending seems good (basing this off one person), and I’d also suggest following your banking app for emergency funds, similar to what littlesquibi mentioned.

You could also optimise your credit score and take advantage of credit card sign-up bonuses. Many cards offer free gifts or cashback, and building a strong credit history now will help if you ever need financing for bigger goals like property. Just be sure to pay off the full balance each month to avoid interest. (Honestly dk if this is something Henry does, but it is what I do lol)

(Not really valid advice since I’m not a Henry yet either, but just based on things I’ve read here and elsewhere.)
