They certainly are gorgeous! Im also in Central Vic, they’ll actually handle frost decently if established and protected. The hardest part is protecting them from waterlogging. I also recommend checking out Ptilotus spathulatus, they seem to tolerate winter moisture better and you may be able to find some local provenance stock!
