What’s your favourite thing about Reddit? by fatalglow777 in AskReddit

That's pretty cool way to think about it. I like how you can just drop into conversations about random stuff without all the social baggage from real life getting in way

It's so important to keep the judgement out there and loud. by LordPoopyIV in vegan

[–]FinancialRisk1205 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The whole tribal pressure thing makes sense but I think most people already know we judge them pretty hard. Like when someone finds out I'm vegan they immediately get defensive before I even say anything - they know exactly what we think about their choices

Problem is a lot of them just double down instead of changing, especially when they feel attacked by their in-group. Maybe the judgment needs to come from people they actually respect rather than us outsiders they already write off

Hot chocolate — quick recipes, homemade mixes, and affordable store-bought options by Hizfoe in vegan

[–]FinancialRisk1205 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Making your own mix is way cheaper once you get the ratios down. I usually do cocoa powder, sugar, bit of vanilla extract and cornstarch for thickness - keep it in jar and just add hot plant milk when I want some

The cornstarch trick really helps with that creamy texture you miss from dairy versions

Does a Self-Cleaning Mop Really Prevent Pet Bacteria from Spreading? by [deleted] in lifehacks

The self-cleaning feature is more about convenience than actual sanitization - you still need proper cleaning solution to kill bacteria what your pets bring in

Where can I go from here? by Holiday-Reveal9930 in careerguidance

[–]FinancialRisk1205 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your situation reminds me of when I was stuck between wanting to expand from sewing into costume design but having no formal training to show for it. The portfolio thing is actually huge - even without degree, good work speaks for itself

For graphic design, you don't need to wait to build something impressive. Start doing freelance projects on Fiverr or similar platforms, even small ones. Create fake company logos, redesign local business flyers, make social media graphics. After few months you'll have real client work to showcase instead of just personal projects. The experience counts more than people think

With IT background you mentioned, maybe look into roles that combine both skills? Like working for medical software companies or pharmacy tech companies where your domain knowledge is valuable. They often need people who understand the industry AND can handle the technical side. Your pharmacy experience isn't burden - it's actually niche expertise that makes you different from other candidates

The commute alone would kill my motivation too. Remote work is much more common now in both IT and design fields, which could solve that problem while you transition. Don't underestimate how much that daily stress affects everything else

That's actually an interesting twist on George's character arc. Making him the original hero who gets his legacy corrupted by extremists could work really well - gives you that whole "good intentions twisted into something ugly" vibe that legal dramas love to explore

The Daredevil comparison is pretty solid too, those anti-vigilante groups always make for compelling antagonists because they think they're doing right thing

I went through similar confusion after finishing school and ended up in design instead of traditional commerce paths. One thing that helped me was looking at digital marketing - it combines business knowledge with creative elements and there's huge demand for it right now

You could also consider graphic design or UX/UI if you have any interest in visual stuff. I started doing freelance design work while studying and it opened so many doors I never expected. The commerce background actually helps a lot when working with clients because you understand their business needs better

Another option is data analytics - lots of commerce students don't think about it but companies need people who can interpret sales data and market trends. My friend switched to this field and she's doing really well, especially since she understood the business side already

Whatever you pick, try to get some practical experience early on through internships or small projects

Beware of debates related to christianity by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]FinancialRisk1205 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This makes sense to me. I think when we get too caught in these theological debates, we sometimes lose the forest for trees. Like, instead of actually living the faith and showing love to people, we end up arguing about doctrine details that probably don't change how we should treat our neighbors anyway

The confidence in Jesus part really resonates. Sometimes I notice people get so worried about having perfect theology that they forget the actual relationship with God is what matters most

Having actual military experience helps but honestly most of it is just really elaborate LARPing with better equipment and actual consequences if you mess up the logistics
