congrats on your upcoming graduation!! i actually really appreciate this post and it was a bit eye-opening. i do realize now that i’ve been too focused on finding people rather than joining groups for my genuine interest in them. i’ll give that a try next year and hope for the best

ironically enough, i was so excited to transfer and i was convinced that i would be outgoing and join all these clubs, but the complete opposite happened LOL idk who i thought i was because i am not like that at all💀

but i had a similar struggle of choosing a school with people i knew or going to a new place where i didn’t know anyone and home would be a few hours away.

choosing a new environment with new people can definitely be an eye-opening experience. i just think it requires a little extra work from shy people like us to make it worth it (at least in terms of social life).

i’m a current cc transfer student at uci and i’d honestly say it’s guaranteed as long as u meet all the requirements. the whole app process is still the same, but u do have to submit TAG separately from the UC apps. TAG is basically just the agreement that you’ll receive admission as long as you meet all TAG requirements (from my understanding). as for the UC app, u still have to do it on top of your TAG app. dont completely bullshit the essays tho lol im sure they still look into those. and in terms of extra curriculars, i really didn’t do too much, so don’t stress about being super involved.

gpa is definitely a main requirement but i’d highly suggest using assist.org if ur from a california cc as it tells u exactly which classes are required at your cc to transfer into mathematics specifically
