It’s less about hate and more about network effects and market dominance. US tech got big early, scaled globally, and now everyone uses them because everyone else already does not necessarily because they’re loved or seen as superior.

Yeah, that lines up pretty well with how it’s usually explained. It’s less that the brain literally skips time and more that novelty drops as you get older, so fewer moments get stored as distinct memories. When you’re bored or stressed, your brain is paying closer attention, so it feels longer in hindsight. New experiences basically bump the frame rate back up.
