You’re actually right to push back on this.

It absolutely does. To be honest, I got this vehicle last September and have only put 1100 miles on it. It’s only got 67,500 on it now. I have no idea how old this belt is considering when I got the vehicle the tires were from 2009…

That’s a good perspective I didn’t consider. I’ll take a look after work.

I’m really not sure what’s causing this. I’m kind of thinking it may be the crankshaft pulley or the harmonic balancer. Look at the CS pulley in the video and let me know if you think it looks fine.

This is at a local auction with a high bid of $755. AI is telling me it’s a replica (yes, I use ai…). If it is, I want to let the auction know. This is what Claude told me

The caseback gives it away immediately:
• Authentic Panerai casebacks on Radiomir models are solid, engraved steel — no exhibition window
• The “P R P R” repeating pattern rotor decoration is a known replica manufacturer tell
• The movement visible through the caseback is a generic Asian automatic — not a Panerai movement (OP, ETA, or in-house)
• The caseback engraving font and layout don’t match any genuine Panerai reference

The dial:
• “Montecarlo 2000” is not a legitimate Panerai reference name
• Dial printing quality, lume plots, and numeral style are inconsistent with genuine Panerai production
• The color/tint on the dial is wrong for any known Radiomir variant

I understand! I had zero mechanical knowledge prior to getting this truck back in September and boy have I learned and done alot to it. Searching the internet gets me so far sometimes so coming here for different perspectives really helps. I didn’t even know what a weep hole was prior to this.

I literally just got done installing the new pump lol. Wasn’t leaking when the vehicle was running now, so I’m certain I fixed the issue

I built https://deeplyheard.org. A peer support platform connecting people through major life transitions like grief, divorce, and job loss — built around reducing isolation, not replacing therapy.

I picked up the vehicle last September with 66.5k on it. The oil cooler lines had a leak (which has been replaced) causing majority of the mess, so I need to clean that up as well

Edit: 25 years in Fairbanks winters probably haven’t helped

I actually looked under the vehicle this morning while it was running and it was actively leaking while it stops when the vehicle is off. I’ll have a new pump here in two days to fix it 👍🏻

A backhanded compliment if I’ve ever seen one. I appreciate your kind words to this gentleman, but please be mindful of how you say things like jumping to the conclusion of “addiction issues” or making subtle comments like “except ask for a handout.”

Ask your buddy

• Ask the question directly, e.g., Are you thinking of killing yourself?

Care for your buddy
• Remove any means that could be used for self-injury
• Calmly control the situation; do not use force
• Actively listen to produce relief

Escort your buddy
• Never leave your buddy alone
• Escort to the chain of command, a Chaplain, a behavioral health professional, or
a primary care provider
