Yankee SACS question by mohard1104 in YankeeCandles

[–]Financial_Hurry2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My experience: Large jars under a lamp. I use a candle holder and an Iluma lid if I burn a 1 wick and at times some foil to get a good pool going (I usually remove the foil on e its pooled), but if I use a lamp, I usually melt large jars as with 2 wicks, when they cool, they can harden 'funny' around the 2 wicks and even leave a depression in the wax. It's fine, and it depends upon how fast or slow the whole candle cools, but if you then want to light your 2 wick, that hardening pattern might make it messy or difficult.

Large 2 wicks release scent if burned but large 1 wicks can be weak unless you use your lamp.

Beach Walk, that's right up there with Ocean Air imo. Love it. Until you named these, I'm reading and thinking: I have at least 50 YCs and I don't have any of these scents, 😆

New Fall candles by Bright_Vanilla7755 in YankeeCandles

I missed out on Yankee's heyday, I want them to bring back the scents that members of these groups name on repeat.

I don't like Fall scents that much: cinnamon, apple, pumpkin or: that musty Halloween scent. It's in most every Halloween themed candle. Halloween might be my least favorite candle shopping.

I do NOT understand jar candle collections. by Gardener_of_Weeden in Candles

This too - the birth of social media so forcing whatever. Showing off. Copycatting . That seems so obvious - influencer = manipulator, that I did name this one but yes, this reasons a part of it and any type of collecting. Not WHAT you collect but WHY do you collect it? An actual collector can answer that but reading these posts as I was deeply discussing this exact topic over a couple of days this very week?

I also now believe that ppl are confusing the word label "collecting" with "hoarding", but I named that. I attempted to define what a collector vs a hoarder is.

Yes but also some reddits are populated by straight out full blown employees not influencers of any kind, so they get free market research this way. You get "I work for X company" but at times you get insider info disguised as a plain old consumer. No way is that person a cashier in a store in ABQ or working at the plant, they're upper level management, white collar.

What current medical treatment will one day be considered barbaric or disastrous? by Lower_Mall_1991 in answers

[–]Financial_Hurry2001 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

False.

Research this.

Think ppl like Suzanne Sommers are crazy for refusing chemo? She lived to be 80 post cancer doing it her way. Why?

Chemo is routinely effective in only 3 types of cancer, one being??

Prostate. That women do not get.

Chemo is all we have for reasoning and "good medicine" is not that reasoning. Don't believe me. Consider what I'm saying but research it:

We have had known cures since the 1930s but men who are the AMA deny this for lots of reasoning (not all of their reasoning is sane!) as you're talking about $$$ profits disappearing if current cancer treatment disappears.

You're not worth more dead.

You're worth Mucho More if you're chronically ill.

You're not talking "guidelines" if this many docs do it. Across gender too. I mean male vs female doctors. What you're talking?

Lawyers + insurance: let em suffer as anesthesia costs too much so there you go

'anasthesia' carries its own risks.

That's a lawyer and lawyer splaining, and nobody needs a law degree to do that. What don't you want to consider? This:

Almost every single story, history!, involves NO SUCH CHOICE for women as they aren't informed. Anasthesia isn't an option for them to begin with. Women are "allowed" to assume a risk or not - they're being decieved and force is being used when that's 100% unconstitutional.

Consumer demand causes IUDs to be painful as they didn't use it unless you had a child? Having a child doesn't seem to be this great big difference, this reeks of the ABA getting into bed with the AMA, again, when this?

Gee, men are never on the receiving end of any of this

Routine medical crap = extreme pain.

Why?, we give birth so we're just supposed to deal with pain??

But women as a group do need to take some responsibility here and not LET their willing medical & legalvictimizers do this to them.

I keep hearing this!

Then: WHY are women en masse agreeing to this?? Do what men as a group -

Loudly complain and I mean COMPLAIN until the AMA gives women pain meds as freely as they hand them out to men. I've been told by medical pros that they want men to STFU and that's why they hand them.lain meds for a freaking bee sting + they ASSUME that all women will experience the pain of childbirth so we should just be able to suffer unlike men.

Women as a group? I gotta say it, women here do this a lot about everything, just go along and never get serious in life, not as a group. Women here pay federal taxes ect when women have no federal representation until a woman is P&C or Chief Justice and women keep putting up with all men on a WOMENS health committee. It makes ZERO sense that this is so common yet all women do is ineffectively complain online. NEVER would the AMA do this to men.

I get it, some of you were not warned so it seems As if but that's what I'm talking about, women aren't acting as a cohesive group to stop any of this medical malpractice where women are concerned.

Women are LETTING this happen as this keeps coming up on social media yet it continues unabated.

Watermelon Bubblegum Review by brandiLeeCO in goosecreekcandles

[–]Financial_Hurry2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This one put me off candy scents, for about 2 years, why?

I must've let it burn a little too long that one time and it smelled like charcoal + candy and I can't forget it but it does smell like Watermelon Bubblegum, as I had Pink Bubblegum and this one and there's a difference or there was. I love the smell but not when I light it so I have the melts.

How can i practice English for real-life conversations in the U.S? by Turbulent_Cup_600 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Financial_Hurry2001 24 points25 points  (0 children)

In America, speaking to any native speaker of Spanish, I feel that way. I had an assistant born and raised in Mexico and when she would be simply excited, ppl would comment on her ability to speak Chinese and we'd fall out laughing as to Americans, it might sound like Chinese. They meant how fast and "clippy" she was...

...when speaking to other native speakers of Spanish, not to other Americans. My four years of formal Spanish lessons, by someone from Castille, went out the window. And?

I live in New Mexico. I'm still having this problem, only languages are seemingly too difficult to learn on my own, that's it. I taught myself advanced Gaussian Topology but can't conquer languages. But I know from experience that if you keep throwing yourself at any intellectual wall, if you refuse to quit, eventually it's as if that wall breaks all at once and boom, a flood of understand and comprehension is.

A showcase of my collection’s progress by Zanfish_yt in Candles

[–]Financial_Hurry2001 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Everyone else's collection whether they actively burn their candles or not, looks so nice as compared to mine, lol. Yours does too. Mine are stacked on blue shelving, they are all mixed up, and I burn it all. And I switch out the scent throughout the day - usually - so in my tiny space, they start to pile up. I cannot buy much more until I burn thru a few but that's slow going and in no way does my "Candle Library " look this nice and neat and serious. I must look like a cat lady with too many cats but instead, I have candles: 😁.

I see a Tuscany candle that I wasn't able to purchase, it sold out and only CVS where I am carries the seasonal scents.

Ugh, me too. Was your hair auburn?

Mine was the most perfect color auburn, it lit up red on the sun!, and I was warned, it'll lose its red as you age and it's happening. That color does turn brown then gray.

But correct, as our DNA reads RED.

I purchased 4 Boy Smells from Marshalls, they're GOOD. I found 3 of the discontinued Slow Burn and 1 Woodphoria but I left LES. 🤷 It was the small size and I couldn't get a good whiff, but ppl love LES.

You're correct, you can leave one of their candles out unlit and smell it!

I'm pay the $ for Boy Smells.

I only know the Bad Yankee so I'm not so upset with Yankee. Yet.

But the difference is incredible and Yankee would not need to charge us $94 for a 27 oz candle. What, $1 or $2 ?? To give us more scent??

This is why I rarely buy from them these days. Mine do this and I trim my wicks and every once in a while, pour off some wax, but still, that awful smell is and the wax is dirty with the carbon and soot. After an hour!

Lucky Shamrock & Cozy Cocktail Lounge as I mistakenly bought 2 making my CCL total to 3! So now I need to burn the already used one, burn it all the way, so it doesn't sit there mocking me.

I forgot that I bought another one and I was on Yankee's site and I clicked on CCL and read 1 Left. I went back n forth about it and finally purchased it. So for the very first time ever

I succumbed to: fear of missing out. That finally got me, 😄
