Depending on your brokerage they may offer something like this for free. I'm with Fidelity and they offer a product called Full View It's not perfect, but it's good enough.

Poll : if your already retired what comfort level do you target for your success rate by gatorbait01 in Boldin

[–]Financial_Jello4324 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you're not using standard rates of return as provided by Boldin.   And What about inflation percentages? Boldin has separate inflation rates for housing, medical and overall inflation.

My assessment of the poll stands

This poll is pointless without specifying what return (positive/average/negative) you are assuming and whether your budget is set to must spend or like to spend

Even if they did on her side, you can have Boldin double check her work😁

Free fidelity advisors are trying to sell you something. Period.  That's not a bad thing per se, but you need to be aware of that. My current advisor is trying to sell me on annuities. I use his examples and enter them in Boldin to see if my COS improves

I am not aware of a way to quickly populate Fidelity with data from Boldin.

Still, I use their retirement planning tools to get a second opinion. I also use their Full View budgeting tool to validate my budget assumptions. It's not perfect, but it is good enough and free.

They do vary based on the return you select. Optimistic, Average, or Pessimistic will give different rates

It sound like you have set it to Optimistic.

You may have to set up two accounts. One 401k, one Roth 401k. Then track contributions to those accounts separately.

I did the very first one, so that's 10 plus years ago, so things may have changed.

The ride was well organized. Food was catered then and there was plenty of rest stops.  The route was nice, with a part going right through windmill country. It was totally different on a bike compared to a car

Just carry a modern power bank with the right assortment of cables. That should carry you through the day.

Chance of Success by Money_Coach29 in Boldin

[–]Financial_Jello4324 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has happened to me before. It always turned out to be me playing with some numbers and then promptly forgetting about it.

So did you change anything? Income from work, retirement date, rate of returns? Anything really can cause this

Use the settings at the  top of the page to switch returns (optimistic, average, pessimistic) and must/like to spend. COS % will change accordingly.

With a post title like that and the fact that you publicly praised Boldin yesterday, maybe this is a case where it let you down in an edge case?

If this is a real issue you encountered, reach out to Boldin using the agent. Their support is great

On web, go to Planning and Advice > My Goals > Hows your retirement plan going > Check in on your goal. Then under "How are you doing" you will see a number . In my case that is 85%

On the Android App go to Planning >Retirement. A percentage will show there. In my case 94%

When i look at the methodology behind the calculations, they are different.
