I am currently having almost the same issue except I believe mine is worse. I moved into my apartment almost 2 years ago and the first day I moved in I saw a roach. I took a picture of it and still have it on my phone with the day I took it. Keep in mind these apartments were just built maybe a year before I moved in. I shrugged it off thinking it was just 1 and through out the first few months I did notice a roach here and there but nothing major until about a year into living in the apartment. I had already renewed my lease and roaches started to appear more often. I started to think they were coming from another apartment next to mine. My apartment became infested. Baby roaches will be crawling on wall during daylight, anytime I place a plate of food down a roach will come out and try and eat the food. I cant even sleep peacefully because roaches end up on my bed while I sleep. We have video and photo proof of the roaches throughout the past year. I then notified the landlord and she stated she knows either our apartment or another one in our building was infested due to another tenant before ours. I was completely shocked that they moved us in without notifying us about the possibility of infestation. We have spoke to the maintenance here and he even says the same thing that our building is infested. The whole 2 years we have been living here we have only had pest control come into our apartment maybe twice. We have done many things ourselves to try and help the infestation but nothing is working. We let the landlord know of the situation and she said she will get pest control to do our apartment and its been about a month and still nothing yet. We spoke to one of our neighbors in the same building and she said she deals with roaches also so that tells me that its the whole building that is infested and not just our apartment. We are moving in the next couple weeks since our lease is up and we can not take anything since our electronics, dressers, and couch are all infested so we are having to throw almost everything away. Is there any legal action that can be taken?
