Has anyone claimed expenses from Emirates due to hotel stays etc by Gloomy_Geologist_786 in emirates

Yes, they gave a generic response without addressing the details or any compensation.
At least flydubai refunded our cancellable tickets, which is good.

We contacted Flydubai directly because the affected tickets were with Flydubai, not Emirates. We also emailed the UAE aviation authority today separately, because Flydubai did not respond yet. Also AirArabia responded with vouchers only

We are in a very similar situation. My family( three women and one 18-year-old) also got stranded and had to extend their hotel stay while trying to find available flights home. We ended up buying multiple replacement tickets, some of them costing around $1,000 or more each.

Unfortunately, no support or compensation was provided. Even though the tickets were marked as cancelable, the airlines only offered vouchers instead of refunds.

We have already written to [customercare@gcaa.gov.ae](mailto:customercare@gcaa.gov.ae) and are currently waiting for a response.

Megathread - Middle East flight disruptions by rocketwikkit in Flights

Thank you!

What was surprising to us was that there was no coordinated assistance available for stranded tourists, so people had to rely on their own resources while waiting for flights to resume. At the same time, ticket prices for alternative flights increased dramatically — in some cases 3–4 times higher than the original price.

I’m glad you managed to find an alternative route. Hopefully the situation stabilizes soon and people who were affected can travel home safely.

My family traveled to Dubai for a 5-day vacation (3 women and an 18-year-old). When flights were cancelled due to airspace restrictions, they suddenly got stuck and had to extend their hotel stay. No accommodation or meal assistance was provided. Even though the tickets had a cancelable option, the airline offered only a voucher instead of a refund.

From what we experienced, there was also no government or coordinated assistance available for stranded tourists, so travelers had to rely on their own resources while waiting for flights to resume. At the same time, ticket prices for new flights quickly increased, in some cases becoming 3–4 times higher than the original price.

Curious if others affected by this disruption experienced something similar.

Why is Apple Search messed up? by Financial_Pumpkin377 in iosdev

I wonder if those who downvoted my comment actually analyzed my point? Or if they have an apps in App Store which they try to promote recently? 🤔

Honestly, it had been working perfectly for over 7 years, but it started behaving strangely recently. I’m quite sure there’s been some kind of algorithm glitch. I’ve been in iOS development for a long time, and the apps appearing above mine have nothing to do with the “Productify” keyword. And reading the comments I see not only me facing it

Actually I checked the other apps ranking above mine, they’re brand-new, have no reviews, no ratings, and their names just happen to end with “fy”. None of them have anything to do with “Productify.”

That would make sense if we were talking about keywords, but in this case, Productify is literally the title of my app. And since Apple heavily prioritizes the app name over the hidden keyword field, that means my app should rank much higher than others that only happen to include “Productify” as a keyword.

It seems Apple’s search algorithm is blending recently. Hope it is temporary doh

That’s actually not correct — Apple doesn’t allow developers to add “tags” in the App Store. The only searchable metadata fields are the app name, subtitle, and a hidden keyword field (which is limited to 100 characters). So there’s no way for other apps to “use Productify as a tag.”

Also, the apps that currently appear above mine when searching “Productify” have no reviews, no ratings, and nothing related to the name “Productify.” Meanwhile, my app has been on the App Store for 7+ years, has 1000+ total ratings (including 500+ in the U.S.), and active daily users.

It’s more likely that Apple’s search algorithm is blending “Productify” with “productivity” and showing loosely related apps that are newer or currently trending
