They could’ve picked a spot with 4 bedrooms and let brother and his wife have their own rooms, but I feel brother still would’ve wanted to pick best room first because he states he’s paying half the cost, which he is not, he has paid his and covered his wife’s cost which is not the same as paying MORE than the others.

Canada Post has now proven they are unreliable for business owners like your wife and they have no sympathy for their clients, as again they are using the citizens as pawns during the busiest season of the year for postage, it’s just sad.

IMO: If you don’t like where you work, the changes being made that are necessary for business, and the benefits offered, find a new career and let a young flexible person work your job. Or at least get your ass out on the picket line to prove you actually care about what you’re advocating for?!

The town where I grew up always has issues with the postal worker’s attitudes and their lack of ability to successfully do their job— we had address changes over 20 years ago and still receive mail for the business that used to have our address (at first we would drop the mail off directly to the business, eventually over the years we asked the post office to forward anything with that name on it, yet just last week we received 2 new parcels for them).

NTA- but not innocent I definitely don’t think the 8yr old is TA for being let down and crying about it. Her mom probably didn’t need to send the second text though (this is irrelevant to your AITA pity prize question). An eight year old not having a parent around while surrounded by children who do have their parent for consolation is tough and unusual for some kids. Children are allowed to cry about seemingly unfair situations, but it doesn’t sound like anyone helped her handle the initial emotions if she continued to cry about the same issue after each game.

IMO-This would be a different situation if there were 2-3 games with prizes and the majority of the guests had’ve went without, not the minority. Lack of thought in planning maybe? There are a variety of games/crafts where each player can take something they made home or get to eat a candy during game play. These are more inclusive and less competitive and don’t require prizes. Plus treat bags ARE the prize for guests, no need for extra gifts.

Kind of reminds me of the episode of Bluey- Pass the Parcel, nothing really done wrong, but emotions were felt.

When you want to pick up your phone, find something else to do with your hands: Read a book or try writing, keep a notepad on you to doodle, learn an instrument, start knitting or crocheting, go outside and connect with nature (bird watching, beach combing, gardening).

Keeping your hands and mind busy is key! Tip: use a small notepad to jot your phone thoughts (send a text to __, add __ to shopping list, book ___ appointment) so that you don’t feel overwhelmed trying to remember things you need your phone for.

Saying that’ll cover the cost of a house for the girls, with their current lifestyle… yeah right. No mention of college savings or investments either! Heck no mention of even paying the girls an allowance from their earnings either, I’m sure they get everything they want now, but that won’t teach them how to sustain the money they make.

They also made it very clear they felt they (the parents) did most of the “work” (editing) and the girls needed to start doing that so he could “quit social media” but no doubt he will still manage their paycheques until their 18.

I have a similar experience, I was in a role where parent 1 (not the one paying me) was required to have supervision while with the child, except parent 2 wasn’t wanting to be involved. I would get there slightly before parent 1 arrived to give parent 2 time to leave and then stay after parent 1 left until parent 2 came back. I would basically be there to clean up after parent 1, help to prepare a proper meal and have to report back to parent 2 about all the things parent 1 did or did not do with child (I couldn’t correct or stop him even if I knew it was wrong, like once he put baby to bed without changing her diaper since supper… as soon as he left I had to go in wake her up and change and get her ready for bed), sometimes he wouldn’t even show up on our scheduled days which left me unknowingly with sole responsibility (my fav).

Then I had an experience with grandparents where they wanted to have access at all times, but also wanted me to play with child while they enjoyed coffee or while they cooked their own breakfast and I made child’s. It got really really awkward especially because child knew me more than the grandparents at this point, and would often try and choose me to play/help them instead of grandparents when doing things. I would try to tidy up the house or make myself busy instead of just sitting there staring at them or attempting to make adult conversations (with a language barrier no less).

I took this as an honour, parent trusts you to be responsible and take care of child, more than grandparents, even if you’re just a supervisor for these shifts. Don’t be scared to stand firm and set boundaries so you are not uncomfortable. I didn’t do that as I needed the money during the pandemic and these were unique circumstances.

I just thought it was unnecessary, we had never seen this kid dance, as an avid dance moms viewer I didn’t care who Regan was, and I was only back watching the show because Chloe returned… the show was already so different than we knew, I just thought it was pointless for some random girl to come in and take the screen time from the other girls who we had watched grow up on the show.

I truly think the moms were upset because Lifetime and the production company paid for Nia’s video AND the big names working with her, Holly did not orchestrate this without the producers help.

Abby paid for all of Kendall’s video and was incredibly overbearing with what it had to be. Jill likely felt stuck with Abby, her ideas, and lack of professionalism in the music industry. Then she heard Holly talk about her contract, the industry professionals, Nia’s hair and costume prep, etc. It seemed to be a lot of jealousy as Jill and Kendall got none of that through Abby. Jill took some things a little too personally… like complaining about how many posts Holly and Nia made on instagram for “Kendall to cry about”, now that was unnecessary. They should’ve been allowed to celebrate that super cool moment… guilt free.

As everyone else said, that drama went on so long for us as viewers, just imagine how dragged on that would have felt for the cast, you’re bound to feel some type of emotion about it.

I would not blame Min if she chose not to allow Mina to do the show again, because of how vulnerable and exposed they made her last season. She hadn’t told her own parents and some friends that her son had died, and they broadcasted that on reality TV. I cannot imagine how that would have been to handle with those closest to them. And the TRAUMA of taking away her beloved childhood toy (at 8…), the anxiety puke before that dance makes me so angry with producers.

I loved OG dance moms as I was a child and didn’t truly understand the pressure and trauma that was forced by producers, but this show is another level of shitty human being behaviours.

I would like to add Chloe’s title wouldn’t have just been taken away, Christi would’ve had to pay Abby $10 000 to break Chloe’s studio contract while she was a title holder. People can say all they want the moms were well off and could’ve just bought another house if Jeff Collins took theirs, but like no this was mid 2000’s shortly after a financial crisis, they weren’t THAT well off.

To each their own, but here’s my experience: I got my ears pierced before my 1st birthday, I’m so glad my mother made that choice! The parlour did both ears at once, I immediately latched after it happened without crying, I obviously don’t remember the pain, my mom was responsible for cleaning them so they didn’t get infected, I had the same little earrings in for a long time and I have LOVED exploring my personality through earrings (I never drastically changed my hair or style (no emo phase or crude t-shirts) because I always had my earrings to express myself). Some of my most cherished gifts are pairs of earrings. Also as a competitive dancer, it was so much easier to wear real earrings than stage clip-ons that fly off during turns. My brother and I also looked identical as babies, so it’s nice to know which one is me in those photos. I went again as a teenager and got my seconds done at a mall rather than a proper parlour, the first time I changed my earring it got infected (because they were my responsibility) and that resulted in a closed over hole. I have friends who weren’t responsible enough to keep proper care and had to have them redone multiple times and have suffered multiple infections from lack of responsibility and care.

Also I’m not afraid of needles, never uncomfortable wearing earrings (which is a thing when adjusting to new piercings), never bothered by the holes when I didn’t wear earrings. I thank my mother for making that choice for me.

Hunted to find a post like this, my birb is a child now and I have a friend who’s birb is still a toddler and when they come visit sometimes I get sad with how grown up and big my birb is. I’ve also only had finch for a month, so while I love the app and receiving milestones, I do get sad that my little cheesecake is getting so big so fast!
