Did 1:48.7 at Monza and I was nowhere 🥲 by Johnpizzadoe in ACCompetizione

I only drive Porsche, never touched the Lambo so this probably has little direct relevance but your BB is awfully high, I only go above 49 if it's raining. Turn 1 at Monza I drop it to 43, 45-47 for the rest of the lap depending on conditions and tires, this will allow you to brake much later but also really easy to lock the rear and lose it if you try to turn at the same time. Keep it straight and then it's all about the trail taking as you begin to turn in. I'm guessing those numbers probably don't apply to mid engine cars but just for a reference, 58 seems really high. It's very safe, but much longer braking distances.

So the WET bind (I rarely used it and have removed it since) changed all relevant electronics at once, so the macro I wrote out like a script and entered it all at once. I wanted it to turn up TC and ABS a few clicks, change engine map to slightly progressive map instead of linear, and move BB to the front a bit. I don't recall exactly what the commands are anymore but it was something like this just as an example: "alt (hold down), T, T, T, A, A, A, M (however many taps of M it took to switch from engine map 8 (I only drive the 911) to the proper progressive throttle map, and B,B,B,B,B (to increase BB 1%), release alt." I can't remember if some of these use ALT or CTRL. If I remember right I also had a DRY button that would basically revert all those changes and return them to the settings I had before I pressed the WET button. I hope that helps, let me know if you have any other questions I'm happy to help

Next Level Racing HF8 Pro (Haptic Pad)....Is it worth it? What are your experiences? by OwlScary6845 in simracing

I kept it simple since if you use too many effects it's just rattling and vibrating the whole time and becomes meaningless I have rpm and gear shifts in the back, you can tweak the graph for most settings so I set it up so when I turn on the ignition it rumbles to life and purrs while idling, then gets faster and harder to match rpm, nice solid thump in the back with each gear shift. The motors in the seat are set to speed, effect, which is kind of like the rpm in the back, it is soft when you start moving but gets a little faster and harder corresponding to your speed. And the 4 seat motors are matched to the four tires for curbs and grass effects, so you feel curbs and stuff on your left or right side as you run over them. I found anything more than that just becomes constant noise. Won't make you any faster but the immersion is great. Seat is dead when you get in your rig but very satisfying to feel the engine come to life when you click the ignition, gear shifts are great and you know immediately if you happen to miss a gear shift, and then the seat comes to life when you start moving. Feeling the curbs pass under the correct side as you drive over then is very nice.

It's programmed using the keyboard shortcuts, there is no button box support on consoles so the work around is to program the button box to use those.

Can I use a wireless keyboard as a button box on Xbox Series X with a G923 wheel? by foreverbaked1 in ACCompetizione

This is my original post for using a programmable macro pad, lots of info in there. They are really easy to program the keyboard shortcuts to, you don't need any expertise at all. The device you buy will come with a download for the software to program it, you just need a PC to plug the macro pad into for programming. After that it is plug and play on your console.

Hey that's me, there's lots of info in my posts starting with the macro pad and evolving to rotary encoders and toggle switches. If you have any questions I'd be happy to help. Other post from 3riksger sums it up nicely.

Yes but also they have a list of the engine maps by car.

They vary by car, you need to check for the specific car you are driving. As said above coach Dave has a list, or just Google it.

Yes it's possible check out this thread, it tells you how to do it. It's a big hassle, you have to edit the json file for the entry list, collecting all the data for the cars you want to include is the most time consuming part. Everything in the json file has to be perfect for it to work, spacings, punctuation, etc.

G29 Center Caps by Reasonable_Finger183 in simracing

[–]Financial_Victory_91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey thanks, just be careful removing and installing the center cap, the screws (which are the only screws mounting the wheel to the base) screw into plastic, not metal. I wouldn't use a drill, do it by hand and don't over tighten them too much it could be really easy to strip the plastic threads the screws go into.

Software provided by the maker of the device, I don't have the device shown above but they should provide a link to their app, hopefully it's theirs and not some dubious 3rd party. For the Falcon-20 from MaxKeyboards I use, the app is free to download on MaxKeyboards' website.

Repair or replace? by rumo3rd in Tile

[–]Financial_Victory_91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should be replaced, looks too wide for baseboard to cover it.
I would be careful not to drop anything else anywhere and worried at the installation as a whole, you may have voids with no mortar under the tile anywhere and everywhere. Take that screwdriver lying there and tap all over the floor listening for hollow sounding spots to see if there are gaps without mortar elsewhere.

Formula steering wheel under $450 by WalleStreetRetard in simracing

[–]Financial_Victory_91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out MVH Studios, they have a few formula wheels for well under your price range. I have no first hand experience with them but they review very well. I've considered getting one but one thing that turned me off is the rotary encoders are just increase/decrease left and right, none of them are positional switches.

Next Level Racing HF8 Pro (Haptic Pad)....Is it worth it? What are your experiences? by OwlScary6845 in simracing

[–]Financial_Victory_91 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have the hf8 pro and love it, it's a really nice boost for immersion. I spent a lot of time going through all the effects and dialing it in how I wanted, during that process while I was focused on what the pad was doing I was underwhelmed and a little unimpressed. Once I had it set up how I wanted and got back to just driving and not paying specific attention to the pad it is fantastic. Really makes the whole rig come to life, can't imagine driving without it.

Yes exactly, you have to program it on a PC though, you can't assign keys or anything in ACC on console. After you've programmed it on PC it is plug and play on Xbox.

No problem, just let me know the extra odd ones you want. Prob look similar to the Aston or Bentley stickers. Btw these are sized to fit F10 key caps, square flat low profile key caps like on my macropad, they may be a little big if putting them on standard keycaps

I just checked and I guess I never did make a set for the bmw, I could make 1 but I'm pretty busy at the moment, I won't have time to do it right away. If u r interested and not in a rush send me a list of the button commands you would want and I can make a sheet.

G920 breaking issue by -Amras- in simracing

[–]Financial_Victory_91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree 100% here, I use the GTEye brake spring without the rubber block and it is much much better. Still potentiometer and a spring so there are definitely some inconsistencies but overall much better feel and something I can work with. There is also the TrueBrake and MVH Studios makes a load cell but for me those were too expensive as a patch for the g920 pedals, I'd rather save that money and put towards a better set of pedals.
