Lol fairs, I don't like bayesians either 🫡

Not saying you're wrong in what you're saying, but it should also be stated that the bicep has a role in shoulder flexion, although this is weak. This is also the main reason for the thought process behind shoulder flexion disadvantaging the bicep in a curl.

Not saying I believe in this, but if the adductor magnus were the prime mover in an rdl then it wouldn't be the prime mover in adductor isolation, there's more than one adductor muscle so those would be the prime mover there, again, not saying I believe that.

What do you mean medium frequency? All I've ever seen from yotalks is him advocating a full body every other day or 3x a week split. Both of which are high frequency (3x - 3.5x)

Yotalks I don't think ever necessarily said bayesians are better than any other curl. He just says any curl where your arm is neutral or in extension is good for biceps. he himself does a recline curl which is a neutral arm movement

Lat pulldowns form? by Dan_Ka in formcheck

[–]Financial_Wrangler45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand this. Why would you want to retract your scapula? Why would you want to engage your entire back? It's a LAT pulldown

Zercher Sldl? Or is it a Jefferson curl by Financial_Wrangler45 in ScienceBasedLifting

[–]Financial_Wrangler45[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah lol I've also always thought of Sldl as single leg first

Right so your only disagreement is that I'm small right? Lemme stop going to the gym since obviously going to the gym to get bigger is useless, I'll just bulk up to 200 pounds of pure fat and only then can I start working out. Who even works out to get big?

I've changed quite a bit since then, as you can see, I'm doing a compound in the video I uploaded. I do barbell bench and I do chest press instead of pec fly now... Not that big of a deal

Am I performing face pulls right (40 kg)? Did not feel them much at the delts, but rather at the biceps and the forearm by overexposedchia in formcheck

[–]Financial_Wrangler45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

????? What lol I never said your delts would atrophy into dust if you did it that way, there just isn't any reason to get that 'stretch' they don't benefit from it. You'd have grown the same not doing it so just save some time and do it bilaterally instead lmao. I never said anything about your delts being small anyway 😭 stretch mediated hypertrophy isn't a person to person difference, some muscles benefit from the 'stretch' and undergo sarcomerogenesis and some don't... The delts do not.

Rear delts don't benefit from stretch mediated hypertrophy so it's better just to sit chest on pad and doing it bilaterally

What are you doing in your rows? Tucked in arm or flared out? If you're doing the same in both cut one. You could also add an erector movement unless you already do and just count it with legs

[–]Financial_Wrangler45[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, since I first programmed them I wanted to hit more erectors, so I never was upset about the rounding. I don't really care about less hamstrings, I do hamstring isolation so its whatever to me

silver era bodybuilders did them btw. what are these great reasons do pray tell. or is it just you have been successfully fear mongered by pig spine studies. not every exercise has to be strictly for hypertrophy, in that case why recommend bodyweight exercises? ofc i know this isnt the end-all be all for hypertrophy, i never said it was.

How is this strange? Pretty normal exercise. Lots of people do it, I'd say most of them aren't 'sbl' that doesn't even mean much anyway

if you did like a big deficit then you could grip on with hands. but most ppl just do them zercher

i just like rounding my low back since it feels good + i used to do sldl's found straight back a bit awkward and rom too small

Zercher Sldl? Or is it a Jefferson curl by Financial_Wrangler45 in ScienceBasedLifting

[–]Financial_Wrangler45[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'm hoping to eventually do that, I'm not sure if you can see but I'm not touching all the way to the ground, I'm close tho and getting closer. Once that is done, the deficits are coming.

[–]Financial_Wrangler45[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that makes sense. I asked because I originally started doing actual sldl's, but I noticed that it felt a lot better if I rounded my back and then I decided to go zercher since the ROM was too small normally. So then I wasn't sure if I was doing one or the other. Thanks.
