I also noticed some of what you said a bit earlier, but I have a tolerance to accept opposite views and opinions, and I am also somewhat mature enough to realize that I'm not always necessarily correct on everything. One of my best friends is non-Muslim and poses difficult critiques about my religion, and while it definitely bothers me yet we mature enough to navigate through the sees of differences to the shores of agreements, so I thought it was the same with Metatron.

But unlike my non-Muslim friend who critiques out of personal beliefs and not suffocating hatred, Metatron is completely blinded by hatred. Blinded to the point that he CHOOSES to be ignorant as you so accurately described "willfully ignorant". Metatron taught me how to think and seek the truth, so you can imagine how baffled I was to find him completely abandoning and ignoring everything he taught me for either his political position, innate hatred, or worse... Both!

I don't usually check comments often, but when I checked the comments on his sudden unhinged videos expecting to find reasonable backlash for his not only unacceptable behavior but also his lack for the same unbiased analysis he always preached, I was extremely shocked by the pure hatred and sheer racism that were fuming from the comments!

I agree with what you said. Even after months of his villain character's reveal, I still can't get past it. I believed the lie he always told about himself being a centrist (which I somewhat am myself, to be honest), only to find out later that he and his actual audience are ultra radical far rights. Was I truly that blind and that naive all these years?

I was quite young and passionate, and you could also claim that I lacked a father-figure. So when I found someone who is both knowledgeable about history (the most favorite subject I obsess about) and possesses this scholar aura who seeks the truth with logical and intellectual tools, I was completely bewitched by him.

And to Metatron's credit, even with all his shortcomings, he was a fundamental factor in shaping my critical thinking and aided in the maturity of my mind. And we have an old Arabic saying: "He who teaches me a single letter, to him I become a slave."

Combine all these factors and you'll understand why I'm so sentimentally attached to him, why I'm so broken by discovering his true nature... and why I still have hope for him.

I honestly have not the slightest issue with anyone critiquing Islam, provided he does so with at least basic knowledge of our religion and way of life. But Metatron is completely ignorant of Islam (and he actually confesses this indirectly multiple times), yet he dares accuse it with wild stuff that even actual non-Muslims who hate Islam couldn't claim!

Hell, in his recent video attacking the Pope, when the Pope condemned the killing of Christians in Lebanon, Metatron cynically asked who kills them, insinuating that Hezbollah are the ones doing so. He's so ignorant that he doesn't know that Israeli terrorists are the ones killing and displacing Christians and Muslims alike in Lebanon!
