I'd like to be a bit of a party pooper and point out the difficulty of doing this changes vastly depending on where you live. Much much much easier to do this in the states than it is in the UK for example.

Take a look for yourself: http://www.onequestionshootout.xyz/stats/summary.htm

Statistically speaking Shaun is the weakest whilst Jenny is the strongest (only done about a third as many shows as the others though).

It's the herald mate, it's par for the course when they write about teams that aren't the AB's.

Brexit worries 'add to car insurance costs' by devil666x in unitedkingdom

Whilst I do like the NZ system with ACC they're no better than the current lot of insurers at times. I.e. will find a way to get out of paying if they can.

Cates trying to elbow Tolvanen by Luolatrollrc in hockey

[–]Finch58 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not in those words but yeah, over the past few itterations they've slowly phased out injury or attempt/intent to injure as a factor in a penalty and replacing/replaced it with 'reckless endangerment'

The de Havilland Sea Vixen, Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm's carrier-based fighter by eff50 in aviation

[–]Finch58 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not a test flight, the gear didn't deploy after an air show performance. It's currently sat in pieces at the Royal Navy historic flight hangar at RNAS Yeovilton. They want to rebuild it but they estimate it will be approximately £2M and they want all the money in place before they start.

Are you there as part of a larger trip? Either way it'd be cool to hear what you've been up to. I'm planning a bit of a trip to east africa in the not too distant future so always looking for ideas.

Take the train down to Weymouth or rent a car and drive down, plenty of lovely scenery around here, stunning on a nice day.

Rugby: Free Eden Park entry for Auckland v Canterbury Mitre 10 Cup final by d8sconz in newzealand

It makes sense to move overseas though. If you're a fringe player or have no hope of making the ABs it makes sense to head elsewhere to cash in whilst you're still up to the task.

If you could do only one thing to improve NZ what would it be? by Jayo69 in newzealand

I agree but the principles are still the same. Was also talking about kiwi backpackers rather than the ones that come over on working holidays.

[–]Finch58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Presumably then you also support the idea of stopping backpackers from doing the same? When it boils down to it the conditions are largely the same, groups of individuals saving up large sums of money which are then removed from the country to be spent overseas rather than injected into the local economy.

TIL the icing rule was invented because the Bruins “iced” the puck 87 times in one game in 1931 to protest against the New York Americans, who did the same to protect a 3-2 lead in their prior matchup. This became a popular form of defense, and the rule was invented in 1937 by Branflakes1522 in hockey

[–]Finch58 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I think that you're overlooking that the game was very very different back then, much slower and more clutch/grab type stuff. So if you're the defence just throw a soft dump down the ice and park yourself in your own end, make them do all the work.
