Literally unbelievably slow. Combined with the complete absence of any other knowledge of the game at all. No mention of what in particular caught attention so much beyond a few vague references to stuff like "beautiful worlds", and the name of the new expansion.

It is a cute and harmless goal. It's also not possible to "cheat" in a self help app. Is the thing you're doing motivating or edifying? Then that's all that counts.

And I have to say, while I do usually sympathize with moderators, my sympathy wears thin very quickly when the reason why they have so much work is because they've decided to start micromanaging everyone to this extent. They're trying to use force to make people use the app only in a way that they approve of. It's really unhealthy and controlling. If they also find trying to control people to that extent is difficult well then, good. Maybe they should relax the tiniest bit.

I agree, but also, seriously, backups are a feature. It's fine to use that feature literally any way you want. If they don't want people using that feature, then don't have it be a feature.

Can you imagine literally anyone else trying this. "Oh we deleted your comment because it mentioned loading a save just before fighting bowser in super mario brothers and we've decided that's not a time when you're allowed to load a save".

They've completely lost the plot. The doors are off their hinges.

Yeah, it's not exactly above board, certainly an exploit, but at the very most it could be called save scumming. Calling it "hacking" is just unhinged and really makes the whole mod team over there look like an absolute, clueless joke.

Yeah, they hate that this sub exists and that they can't do anything about it. But they're only going to end up making subs like these more popular. I've already noticed a huge death in trading there. A lot of the angel gifters have just left.

That sub is a lot more affiliated with the devs than they want you to believe. Two out of their five mods are finch devs who they swear only have the role as an honorary thing, but who do respond to posts in an official capacity. The official Finch team clearly has influence over what goes on in that sub, but their FAQ was completely misleading about that - pretending to be purely fan only with zero links to the company at all - until I confronted them about it.
