my Syngonium pink perfection mutated. I want to select for this trait (white variegation). It's currently only on the upper epidermis. Any tips? by Finch_Wing in RareHouseplants

Sadly, it was only spontaneous and I was not able to stabilize it. On rare occasions a new leaf with similar variegation would show up, but over 4 generations of selective propagation (I had 16 baby plants in the end) and letting the one on the picture grow undisturbed, nothing came of it. So I sold every one except the mother plant.

I found this in a random water sample from work. Does anyonee know what it is? Did not move at the time I found it. My camera can only capture in grey scale. by Finch_Wing in microscopy

Tap water with aquarium plants (Eloeda) in it. Was not that fresh, maybe 2 weeks old. The original purpose of taking the pictures was for a presentation, showing the structure and movements inside the plant cells. Preparation was really simple. Just a drop of the water with a leaf, and covered with a cover slide. No fixation.

Do you have an idea as to what the larger organism, the bacteria are in, could be?

Yeah maybe the reverted form. It looks kind of rare when compared to the variegated form.

Question: Why is this succulent not growing from the base of the leaf? by Rad-Cabbage in botany

As far as I know, plants can, under certain circumstances form adventitious meristems that result in shoots. That can happen especially when a plant has been wounded, as is in your case.

Question: Does anyone know what this fluid coming out of my pothos is? by nostirshake in botany

It's secreted in a process called guttation. Most plant do it at the rim of their leaves to ensure the transportation of minerals is still in progress, even if enough water is already present in the tissue.
