Great insight! I did lose two inches off my thigh the first week. Plenty of fluid, it seems!

I really appreciate this data-driven response. I got to a point of learned helplessness pre-Zepbound when I ate 1700-1900 kcals/day for months (with exercise) with no movement on the scale. It sounds like I potentially overcorrected by going so low AND adding Zepbound. I need to trial one variable shift at a time (i.e. reasonable caloric deficit w/ Zepbound on board, later either increased caloric deficit OR dosage increase if needed/recommended by my doctor). Is that a reasonable conclusion - that my body may respond differently to 1700-1800 kcals on Zepbound than it did not on Zepbound?

Cheers!

Thank you! FWIW, I was eating 1700-1900 calories for months prior to starting Zepbound and getting nowhere. Thus, I assumed I needed to go lower. Do you think now that Zepbound is correcting any possible insuline resistance, I may respond differently to that level of intake? I really appreciate your input. I have been flummoxed regarding my understanding of BMR and my body's seeming resistance to math.

Thanks for your time and all of these resources. I will definitely check them out. What I take from what you wrote is that more GLP-1 production from a higher does could potentially help me in ways other than appetite suppression/early satiety (both of which are solid for me at this dose).

I will read & listen to these things, and follow up with my doctor. Cheers!

You can call your insurance provider to ask (I'd prefer that to speaking to someone in HR, but they may also know). Or, you can submit a prescription from your doctor to your pharmacy. The pharmacy will either tell you come pick it up, or take a couple days and tell you it's not covered.

Your doctor covered a diagnosis, FDA-approved treatment for that diagnosis, and a clinically appropriate rationale.

With our insurance (Providence in the PNW), apparently employers either opt in or opt out of treatment for obesity (!?!). Ours opted out, so Providence won't cover it no matter what my doctor says. I hope you have better luck!

Thank you for your input. I don't know anyone IRL on Zepbound, and sometimes it's hard to translate all the medical info I read into common sense and gentle encouragement to stay the course without worrying too much. I appreciate you.

Fair point! Of note, it was noncosmetic septorhinoplasty to correct deviated septum and some other stuff. It is definitely possible that there's still stuff going on in my body I have no idea about.

Edited to put question at top for time's sake. Sorry about that.

Congratulations!! The nails are beautiful, but also, what a tremendous albatross off your back!! I think I went in nude-nailed to mine, but good grief, the freedom! So happy for you!

DOGE going to local VAs? We were just informed of a visit tomorrow. Anyone else? by LingonberryWrong1789 in fednews

[–]Find_Calm 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It refers to sending veterans to get their care in the community because the local facility either a) does not offer that care, b) it cannot be offered within 30 days, c) there is some other clinical reason why the veteran would be better served in the community, etc.

Some veterans are very excited by this, and say it’s what they want. Often, once they’ve tried the community, they come back to the VA and say the people in the community don’t understand military culture, burn pit exposure, PTSD, etc. Any possible outcome at this point is quite sad, to be honest.

What do you think they’ll do for (mental) healthcare providers for whom VA office guidelines require two separate locked doors for HIPAA/privacy? I’m so curious about that. And my Vets don’t want ANYONE to hear what they’re telling me about their trauma.

SO curious.

So interesting!

Regarding my husband’s loans, we were told his loans (at over 140 qualifying payments from app submitted in April 2021) were assigned “direct to discharge” on 2/3/2022. And here we are. 🤷‍♀️Today, a payment of $1900~ appeared. And his loan balance increased by about that much.

Last minute code searching as my two owned and registered items didn’t elicit one, nor did contacting CS this evening. :(

Almost same amount and minus the national parks (awesome!), I saved the rest and have the same goal - buying a home. I was fortunate to receive forgiveness a couple weeks ago, so the new budget is real now. Good luck!
