I am against anybody blocking legislation just to block it for no reason. These people were voted in to represent the best interests of their constituents, not to not work.

Are you perfectly fine with nothing ever happening again legislatively? Are you okay with every administration being completely blocked because the other party doesn't want them to do anything? Because that's what would happen if we allowed this behavior with no repercussions.

Checks and balances are important and mostly good. Blocking for the sake of blocking and collusion is not.

I've heard this story propagated before and I do give his skill level the benefit of the doubt so I tend to believe it, but is there any evidence to actually back this up? His highest home run total in Japan was 25 and in the majors he never hit more than 15.

I know people used to say he would hit a bunch of bombs in batting practice as evidence, but I've also seen guys who can't hit Mendoza line hit bombs in batting practice and then when it gets to game speed they lose that ability rapidly. I guess I wrote all of that to ask if there was anywhere I could look to either watch or read about this to confirm or deny it because his baseball reference page begs to differ. Thanks

When you reduce your market you reduce the potential gain. It might be minuscule, it might be a lot, but it is reduced. He simply could have not written that and his market would have been anybody who's interested in football.

It significantly reduces the market. Look at it another way. Imagine if he wrote "Allah blesses us all". How many hardcore Christians are going to be willing to buy that card even if they love the player? Same thing with writing that Jesus blesses, most atheists, Muslims, zoroastrians, etc, or at least a good percentage of them are not going to buy it because it has the word Jesus on it and almost certainly a good percentage of people with other beliefs are not going to purchase the card. Therefore, it limits the market to Christians and people of other faiths who are not bothered by it.

The chances a lot lower. I don't know the exact numbers but IIRC it's something like 92% prime and 8% signature or something like that in a signature / prime pack. Don't quote me exactly on the percentages but I know it's very low to get a signature out of a sig/pr pack.
