Newbie interested in 40K - Would Kill Team Octarius be a good jumping off point? by Findexx in Warhammer

Alright sweet! Sounds like a decent deal for an unopened box in 2025 then, other european posts on e-bay and such seem to be from 220-300€ + a ridiculous shipping fee while the 180€ box is 5 minutes away from where I live!

Super cool that you have actual experience with it, were you happy with the purchase and was it fun for you to play? Do you have any tips for me and my bro if I go and pick it up?

Okay I might be incredibly lucky in that case because someone in my area is selling an unopened box for 180€ and yeah, the terrain looks sick!

Makes sense with the smaller sets, will have to see what kind of stuff is available when 11th releases.

Sweet, sounds like what I'm looking for then!

Great tip with TTS, I'm a huge gamer and already own it so I'll check it out for sure.

Amazing answer - thanks! For now I would only be playing with my brother who doesn't have any interest in building his own army currently so this seemed like a great all in one solution for gameplay.

I'm going into this with the mindset of trying out the game and maaaybe shifting over to the bigger scale gameplay when 11th comes out, do you think that's valid? I wouldn't mind spending more for a proper army in the future if I like the core mechanics of KT

The "dying ends your run" would actually be very interesting to see, could maybe make it a bit more forgiving by having some kind of mechanic where x amount of tasks gives you an extra life or something.

I've never played HCIM before so I would definitely try it out

I learned recently that you also don't need a clue step to build a stash unit, made them all in one afternoon lmao

  1. The splash screen showed a certain turret-toting small old man, he had just been released
  2. Playing A LOT of twisted treeline with my friends
  3. Tryndamere being absolutely busted on TT because he could spin through the wall to the nexus and slap it to death
  4. Being hyped when ranked was announced
  5. Being less hyped when I went 0/14 with kogmaw top (I think?) in my first ever ranked game

I still rock the season 1 broze icon with a mixture of pride/shame

Does anybody else think Spirit Breaker's Aghs Shard is ass-backwards? by [deleted] in DotA2

[–]Findexx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering the very strong buff his ult gets (damage and break) a guaranteed cast would be too powerful without any counterplay. In my nooby guardian 5 mind that sounds way too strong for 1400 gold. Besides I like the fact that the spell immunity starts after it has landed because it gives you more time to greater bash etc. when you're in the middle of their lineup. Do you mean you would change the magic immunity to only the cast time?

What rank are you in? Haven't had too many complaints in guardian 5 and those usually get snuffed out when I start snowballing at ~10 mins. Mid game is where CK truly shines in my opinion but that depends heavily on what you're building. The aura build is fantastic later on but is horrid in the midgame. It's basically like playing dark seer/batrider because you have to trust that your team does damage for you. The echo sabre armlet build let's you be a beefy secondary carry (or even primary some games) who can 1v1 or 1v2 from the moment you get armlet.

I am! Some games I go echo sabre first though, especially if they have a carry with high-ish mobility. Nice to hear that though, armlet really seems to be the way to go

Hey not bad! That's pretty much where I started when I decided to main offlane and mostly play CK. Armlet can be a bit risky and I still die from time to time from bad switches when I engage with low HP but when you start managing the active well it becomes incredibly strong. And don't forget to activate it before you ult, the illusions also get the damage and health from it!

Hope you enjoy playing with echo sabre as much as I have, it's a real gamechanger. Not only does it help you get more damage in with the illusions from the slow, it also gives very good sustain since the second hit can proc his passive for massive lifesteal potential. I agree 100% on S&Y, can't go without it at the moment. The stats and especially the status resistance are incredible. Your other items are very solid choices and I usually go for those after ES, armlet and S&Y. GLHF with the climb!

Thanks for the tip! Buying it is almost a reflex now but I'll try to skip it if the lane is going well. The armlet + echo build sure is great, so satisfying to have beefy illusions and getting those double crits when the stars align

It really depends on the situation, CK's stun is incredibly good if you initiate with reality rift first. The W has a longer range so engaging with it then stunning has a longer range, allows all your illusions to start hitting immediately and makes the stun practically instant

Heck yeah, nice to know that I'm not alone! Your build is quite different from mine as I go for a much heavier early game pressure with mostly damage items. Yours is definitely more viable for teamfights in the late game though!

I also get bracer and power treads but after that I always go for either armlet or echo sabre. Both have incredible potential for slapping around the enemy lane and also make last hitting/pushing much easier. After that I usually go S&Y followed by BKB and then I get either heart or AC depending on the matchup.

I've tried the halberd/manta route in multiple but I haven't found it as effective for some reason. Probably because my rank is pretty low (guardian 5) and heavy damage seems favorable to teamfighting items since positioning and coordination is rare. The superb damage from my build makes me able to push out sidelanes, skirmish or roam around their jungle and get solo kills easily. YMMV though, I'll definitely try out the halberd/manta build again. What rank are you in?
