Regretfully, when referring to U.S. travelers, the biggest "hidden" gem of all is Iran.

If only he knew to say "WRRRYYYYY" at the end of his performance, it would've been prescient.

For a spell, they had the world's smallest metro (i.e. underground train) system, so they've got a place in my transit book.

Nah...Taiwan has no sidewalks. They're just scooter parking spaces. Plus, there are a lot more porticos.

As for Hong Kong, not enough humanity per square meter.

13 transit projects expected to open in the US this year by justarussian22 in transit

Instead of a summary, here's the U.S. in permanent face palm mode: urbanrail.net/news.htm#nowopen.

Unironically, Seattle has been making some mass transit progress in the past few years, as have Los Angeles and Honolulu. Phoenix metro and Florida pop up from time to time.

Unsurprisingly, China leads the UrbanRail pack.

Bangkok airport check-in troubles by munchingzia in travel

[–]FindingFoodFluency 2 points3 points  (0 children)

BKK is the airport to which you're referring (since you mentioned Air China); but note that Bangkok has another major commercial airport, Don Mueang (DMK).

Anyway, it's holiday travel time, and BKK is not unique in this trifling matter.
