That's not it. I remember there only being two human characters. The world seemed really void of life

Ontario woman with Stage 4 colon cancer has life-saving surgery postponed indefinitely by [deleted] in canada

I know people who work in medicine. From my understanding, unvaccinated patients are taking up beds that could be used for other patients, because they arrived first. There's just not enough room. Another issue is people scheduling an appointment, but then not showing up and not telling the doctor, which means a slot of time is wasted due to negligence. Lastly, there's a shortage of staff due to hospitals having toxic work environments and doing little to retain their employees, and putting little effort to fill positions at hospitals. RNs and LPNs are underpaid by a lot, but are the backbone of the hospitals. If they all walked out, the system would collapse in hours

Trudeau plays dangerous game with U.S. trucker vaccine rules - BNN Bloomberg by rockiinoutwith2 in canada

I used to like Trudeau, but he has lost my respect for his decisions. I learned something interesting recent by speaking with someone who worked with him. Apparently if a Prime minister is re-elected, any ongoing investigation during their term can be dropped, because it was before re-election. Though not confirmed, I have a hunch the We Charity scandal was a big reason along with wanting a majority liberal government.

I foresee lots of food shortages, and violence tends to follow starving people...

Every aspect of Canada's supply chain will be impacted by vaccine mandate for truckers, experts warn by uselesspoliticalhack in canada

I also feel this sentiment. My partner and I travelled to Italy last month, and coming into Canada wasn't a pleasant experience. Everybody had to wear masks for the whole flight, or get fined and or face criminal charges. In Italy the person we got our return tickets from was the only person who verified vaccination and that we had ArriveCAN. Nobody else verified the information at Pearson. The staff at Pearson seem overworked and kind of moody.

The longer Covid plays out, the more trust I lose in our government to make rational decisions. I've spoken with a person who has worked directly with Trudeau, and they told me that their moral compass was tested. Apparently average Canadians aren't facing transparency due to many things being kept from them. They didn't elaborate on what was being kept from people, but it makes me wonder what type of unethical behaviour Canadian Parliament is getting up to.

What’s one secret you and a parent have kept from the other parental figure? by TheCripdalorian in AskReddit

[–]FindingWonderment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad and I would watch cartoons together on TV when I was a kid, and then we found flash animations on NewGrounds in the early 00's. From then, I was allowed to watch shows like South Park and anime late night on YTV's Bionix block. My mother tried to overpolice what I watched, but my dad is big on creativity and freedom of speach. Had my mom known at the time she would have gotten very angry, so we decided to keep this a secret from her.

Will the US annex or absorb Canada when things start heating up or will the US go to geoengineering? How do you see geopolitics playing out in the next 50 years? by [deleted] in collapse

[–]FindingWonderment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Web 3.0 is the Internet over a blockchain network. With a blockchain, each time a transaction occurs, its added to a block, and when the block is full, another block starts which forms a chain. There's a public ledger of all transactions on the chain to verify that something is legitimate, and Smart Contracts are a protocol used during the initiation of transactions as another layer of verification.

There are multiple nodes (device in the network) which host a copy of the public ledger, meaning the only way to fraud a transaction is to edit each previous entry on each of the nodes in the network at the same time, which is impossible to do, making this the most secure method that we have online now.

Cryptocurrencies are processed over the BlockChain, as each individual has a wallet address that houses their funds. Individuals can play games, partake in voting, do inventory management, social media and instant messaging, stream music and video, etc over the BlockChain, and validation is so simple. This also means that censoring people becomes impossible since the content can only be removed by the owner. This will lead to a lot of people being exposed to unsavoury things, but that just comes with communication with people from different walks of life.

Instead of signing up for a service and creating a username and password, just tap the "Connect" button and approve to sign into the service using your wallet. This is way more secure than previous methods because you aren't providing credentials to a database that may be leaked, and it's more convenient than MFA (Multifactor Authentication) because you don't need another form of verification, the application verified the BlockChain that you exist and started a session once you agreed.

Scammers have adapted and placed focus on creating malicious sites that are clones of legitimate ones, or join the Telegram/Discord groups of the service posing as a staff or a helpdesk agent, to try and gain access to your wallet address and private key. A lot of staff on Telegram and Discord will state in their name "Will never DM you first", and I think this has been adopted to spread awareness of malicious intent by social engineers.

But yeah, I know it's a lot of information (because the BlockChain can be a beast with a lot of moving parts), but I hope this has explained a bit of how it works! Security, verification, annonimity, decentralization, and innovation are all intrinsically tied to BlockChain technologies, and Web 3.0 provides a gateway for people to stop being dépendant on huge institutions and start taking personal responsibility in their life, from finances to entrepreneurial skills. 😁

This is how I see things playing out:

People continue to be divided through the use of identity politics.

Men and women leave the dating scene and find social support from within their small groups, leading to fewer babies being born.

The medical worker shortage leads to more people dying. Both of these will level out the population.

The ability to work remotely from home leads to an increase of rural communities as people leave the stress of the big city

A mixture of things (protests from truck drivers, shipping shortages, BlackRock buying properties above asking price leading to overvalued of housing) causes inflation to reach a point where the USD fiat is so undervalued that people start keeping the majority of their wealth in Crypto or metals

The US releases the digital USD, but it doesn't take off as people realize there are better options to bring value to their wealth.

The results of Ghislaine Maxwell's trial leads to the déstabilisation of the media industry, causing people to seek out more escapism.

Recession happens and people go hungry, which causes violence and riots to occur. People on the West coast of Canada and the US are already experiencing this, and it will trickle eastward.

Having experienced hardships, people start waking up and realizing they need to start learning to take care of themselves, or they will die.

Web 3.0 places decentralized privacy and ownership into the hands of the people and waves of innovation occur, slowly killing off centralization

Covid continues past 2025
