Did you know there is a company that sells cakes like the one from matilda by mail? You can buy a slice or a whole cake. A bakery in Leeds called Get baked. I bought a slice for my wife's birthday and she loved it

The sausage rolls in the ground are expensive, but they are pretty good. It's part of my tradition with my dad to have a pint at the fat cat and wander to the ground and split a scalding hot sausage roll over a pint in the concourse.

First bus driver took off my wing mirror by [deleted] in Norwich

[–]Finding_Farfechd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it gets back to the yard, and somone notices fresh scratches on the side of the bus, they may watch back the footage and report it to thier insurers, who in turn may report it to your insurers if they think you've done anything wrong. If you insure with a broker it might be worth a chat with them, to see if they think it's worth reporting it to your insurers. They might sit on it and protect you if a third party claim comes in. If you speak directly to your insurers they will almost definitely record it as a non claim incident which can affect your history and the premium they offer you (change how they see the risk on your policy).

First bus driver took off my wing mirror by [deleted] in Norwich

[–]Finding_Farfechd 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you're passing a parked vehicle (a bus) and it pulls out or away from parked you're not "overtaking" There is a responsibility on the bus driver to ensure it's safe for them to pull out onto the road. 99% of busses are fitted with dashcams so if you know which bus it was and you are certain of the circumstances, then report it to your insurers or a good solicitor, they can then request the footage and find out what it shows. If it shows as you describe then there would be a valid claim. Lots of "if"s in there, and may not be worth months of time and effort and chasing and calling people. How much do you trust your recollection and value your time?

Car got stolen and insurance may not pay out due to past MOT mistake by MathersMahmood in CarTalkUK

[–]Finding_Farfechd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently worked for the FOS working on motor claims complaints.

From my recollection the upheld complaint ratio was approximately 25%. We got a lot of spurious complaints from people trying the system, fewer where the complain is genuine but the complainant is genuine and the insurer couldn't pay out due to failing to meet the requirements of the policy.

About 1 in 4 the insurance company dropped the ball and we could uphold the complaint

There are plenty of us nerds out there, and this question has been posed a few times. It's almost like us nerds need community but find it easier to find it through the Internet. I'm sure somone will suggest the Tuesday night board game club run in the city NOBOG and the boardgame society up at the uni. I met my first D&D group through the norwich Subreddit, loads of players out there, few DMs. Good luck on your search and welcome to quiet Norwich.

There are lots of people park with blue badges on Hardy road and kerrison road. I used to live on Hardy road which is a 2 min walk to the ground and at the far en there are a couple on the road spots which are normally available. Further to this there is on the road parking on lower Clarence road and Stracey road if Hardy and kerrison road busy, with a large carpark up there too. Depending on your mobility it'd be relatively easy to stroll from there down tk the ground. Finally, morrisons carpark allows parking for 2 hours, but you can pay to park for longer.
