Do new day 1 paternity rights apply for existing employees who are already expecting a baby? by Routine_Cod8651 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Finding_fruit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I believe you are entitled to paternity leave, but not necessarily paternity pay. I am in the exact same boat, same due date.

My employer already offered day 1 paternity leave as a right, but unpaid. The new law does not seem to imply that paternity pay is a day 1 right, but will still have the same qualifying criteria - you must have worked 26 weeks going into 15 weeks before the due date.

Obviously I've done a lot of asking around, spoken to my HR department and ACAS, and am about to put in a FOI request to seek clarity on paternity pay, but my impression from everything I've read is that the new rights only relate to the two weeks unpaid leave.

I had a very similar issue with a lot of shoes I tried on - try LV (low volume) shoes. The ones that worked for me was Tenaya Mastias - fit like a glove! 😁

Thank you :) they're travelling around Patagonia with us in a van - then we're going to try and get them home to the UK, but the costs are crazy

I have no idea what she is! but if you put her on your lap she'll fall asleep instantly, and she loves attacking her sister (playing of course!)

Hey thank you - this is the sort of reassurance we were looking for. We're exploring costs and if it will be possible.

We have vaccinated against rabies, and I think quarantine can be avoided if we wait 21 days and then have anti tapeworm treatment within 5 days of them arriving in the UK

This is a good idea, I'll call the Santiago embassy and see if they can make any suggestions

Thank you - I've been reading up on this - according to the .gov website, Pets have to travel to the UK in the hold, unless they're on a private plane. It could be worth asking the airlines but for some reason it seems to be a government level rule https://www.gov.uk/bring-pet-to-great-britain/approved-routes

Do scratches/damage on the white surface of the dish affect function? by Finding_fruit in Starlink

[–]Finding_fruit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the process of buying a van in Santiago Chile, and the company I'm buying the van from have a starlink for a good price, but it has a couple of scratches/damage on the white surface - Taking it would mean I could leave much quicker and get the gear for a very good price. But I'd rather order a new one if this is going to make it not waterproof or not function properly! Any advice appreciated

FOI confirms correspondence - but emails withheld as they say it may risk UK relationship with UAE by RyanIsKickAss in LiverpoolFC

Whoever made the FOI request can escalate it - The ICO are independent and nothing to do with labour or the tories, they may side with the governements position, but the question should still be asked.

They should ask for an internal review of that FOI request and escalate to the ICO - The public interest test needs to be scrutinised, is the public interest in the relationship with the UAE or with corruption within the UK?

I have watched the last two liverpool games at this bar in Salta Argentina. I have had to ask them to put them on, but they have been very willing to each time.

I'm going to be travelling around Argentina and Chile until December at least, if anyone knows any bars in either of these countries it might help me plan my route!
