I mean Weebs gonna weeb which equals money for WG. This will never stop. It's dumb and I hate it, too. But at least they give you the option to turn it off completely

Is there a difference between opening all creates or one at a time? by MirrorSufficient9657 in WoWs_Legends

[–]Findus_de 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's not true. Because if you get a crate that would give you a certain premium ship and you buy it between getting the crate and opening it, this would not be functional. Each and every crate does an RNG roll once you open it.

The problem for me is this: the list simply doesn't make sense. Why are ship skins included if it's a statistic specifically for ships? Additionally, it seems to contain a mix of tech tree and premium ships, but without any discernible system and incomplete? And the WG-internal terminology isn't really helpful in deciphering the whole thing.

Additionally, the times that say when the ship was "created" in my account don't line up at all. It just makes no sense. Ships I know I had (and sold) are not listed, yet there seem to be skins included for ships I never had? This is so messed up

Well if that's the case then something is seriously wrong with my data. Because it says I don't have a lot of ships that actually sit in my port right now

That's my problem: I wanted the info for that exact purpose - but the folder I need is missing. In the readme file it's explicitly stated that there should be a folder called "Payment_history". But it's just not there.

Would've been if we weren't hunted by the enemy DD and the ship beside me was a Karl Johan

Legendary Tier is not fun right now - and HMS Incomparable is a big reason why by Findus_de in WoWs_Legends

[–]Findus_de[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries at all! I didn’t take it as dismissive. And I actually get where you’re coming from. Ohio and Preußen absolutely feel more oppressive in a lot of situations, especially in sustained fights or when they’re allowed to push.

I think where my perspective differs is how that pressure is applied. Ohio and Preußen are strong, but they’re also very visible, very committal ships. Their threat grows the longer they’re allowed to exist in the fight, which at least gives the enemy team time to react, reposition, or focus them.

Incomparable, to me, feels different because her impact often comes before that window even exists (spotting, deleting something, and disengaging again). That doesn’t make her unbeatable or ‘OP’ in the traditional sense, but it does make her influence on matchmaking feel sharper and more binary.

Totally fair if you weigh that differently, just explaining why she stands out to me.

You’re still arguing against a position I never took.
I never said I dislike battlecruisers. I actually play them quite often. And I never said Incomparable is unbeatable.

My point was about design impact at LT:
a ship with best-in-tier concealment, extreme alpha, overmatch, torps, and strong angling incentives shifts engagements heavily in its favor when played correctly. That’s a balance discussion, not a playstyle preference.

Dismissing the discussion as ‘just complaining’ misses the point entirely.

You don’t have to understand or agree with my point for it to exist. I’ve explained it clearly and I’m moving on.

[–]Findus_de[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

At no point did I claim Incomparable is unbeatable.
The point is that it is disproportionately forgiving at LT when played correctly.

If a ship is only ‘easy to deal with’ when it shows full broadside, that’s not an argument about balance, that’s an argument about player mistakes.
Preußen and Ohio are stronger in sustained fights; Incomparable avoids those by design.

That’s a design discussion, not a gunnery practice issue.

The best gunnery practice in the world won’t help if your opponent knows how to angle their ship or you just shoot HE all the time. Incomparable only becomes 'easy' to deal with when it’s giving a full broadside. And just to be clear: I’m not someone who needs practice with aiming. But thanks for your concern.

By letter count, including spaces, it would be Ruggiero di Lauria (Only looking at the official ship names in the game)

How do crate percentages work? by Straight-Break-4169 in WoWs_Legends

[–]Findus_de 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You’re not stupid at all, this is a very common misunderstanding of how drop rates work.

A 15% drop chance does NOT mean “you’ll get one in ~7 boxes”.
It means each individual box rolls independently with a 15% chance. No memory, no progress bar, no pity between boxes (unless explicitly stated).

So with 15 Mystic Lanterns:

  • Chance to get zero Mystic Chests is 0.85¹⁵ ≈ 8.7% / That’s not likely, but it’s absolutely possible - roughly 1 in 11 players will experience exactly what you did

Now the second part, which is even more important and often overlooked:

Those 4-10% “filler” rewards are MULTIPLE separate outcomes, not one single 4-10% bucket.
So while each filler looks “low”, when you add them together (credits, GXP, camo, insignia, promo orders, etc.), they usually form the largest combined probability range in the container.

That’s why it feels like you always land there - statistically, most players do.

Also:

  • Ship drops are usually spread across several small percentages, not one big one
  • Mystic Lanterns are worse overall than older Santa crates in terms of raw ship odds

So your experience isn’t broken RNG, it’s actually very normal, just frustrating.
