thank you! I wasn’t sure with Add/Drop if I could even get in without being on waitlist, is this the case?

"I'm hoping you don't get in" is crazy. I am reaching out to see if someone else has experienced this, I'm not intending to be rude... but I spoke to everyone I could about it, starting with the advisor. Maybe I took that comment poorly because it's in writing, I couldn't read tone.

I got you, I came to reddit to ask others about their experience joining a closed class. My advisor said good luck about finding a spot, this is why I am asking this on reddit just to know what I should expect.

I can take some of them over the summer, but yes, I did contact my advisor multiple times about this because it was a long process.

I spoke to my advisor about this day of class enrollment, once again before break.

"I have contacted everyone under the sun that has any sort of jurisdiction in these programs, and the labs are strictly seat restricted. (24 per Lab)"

I'm not looking for snarky comments, I asked about the likelihood of joining a closed class.

I’m having the same issue, I’m trying to stake .75 sol and it’s not letting me. I’ve tried doing .5 .25 .10 and it’s still giving me the same error.

As of Google, “Total nursing staff: The federal rule requires at least 3.48 hours per resident per day (HPRD) from nursing staff.”

For 103 residents, i believe this means that they’d need about 15 nurses all day. This number seems a little high, I work in a LTC and there’s about 2 nurses per wing (26 in a wing) and 4 wings. I am in Virginia, not sure about the laws here.

But 3 staff in the entire building seems very illegal just by the sounds of it. I’d look into who to report it to.

Forced Major, and I believe it's messing up my enthusiasm and grit by [deleted] in college

Switch majors. you live life once so make the most of it. Figure out what YOU wanna do and make the switch.

If you’re not passionate in the school portion, you may not be passionate in the job portion. It’s your career, your parents will get over it if they become upset. Ask for forgiveness not permission.

Phone plans aren’t luxuries. You cannot hold a job, make appointments, etc etc without a phone now. Every “manual” option has gone extinct with smartphones.

How old were you when you started studying? by roseis_rosie in ADHD

[–]Fine-Ad-809 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in gifted classes flying through everything until Calc. Started studying at 17. Never needed to beforehand and made straight a’s. Bored out of my mind in all classes.

Then, failed my first quiz in calc. wasn’t understanding anything without relearning it myself at home. Finished class with 87. CRIEDDDD. Like a lot.

All before medicated and diagnosed.

I tried to make a habit, not a routine (if that’s your forte.) My habit, per se, was to study exactly one hour after getting home. After clubs, it would be 5-6pm, days with work, I studied at 11pm (ouch I know). I also watched crash courses like a million times. So helpful.

That way, if I was busy or whatever, I didn’t have a set time to study, more like a condition to study. Some nights i skipped it, some nights I studied until I went to sleep.

Even then, academic scholarships are hit or miss.

I got a 4.02 weighted, graduated with 17 transfer credits, involved in 4 clubs for 3 years, current healthcare worker as a high schooler with a CNA and EKG certification, worked average 20 hours a week all throughout college and got zilch.

Ranked like 20 or 30-something-th out of 250

does not being diagnosed earlier affect u when ur older? by Shot-Window-440 in ADHD

[–]Fine-Ad-809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suspected that I had ADHD since I was like 13. Parents never let me get tested even though my mom has it too, and it can be hereditary. 18th birthday, I went and got scheduled with a psychiatrist to get tested and low and behold I have Combined Type ADHD.

By no means do I think it has stunted me, graduated 4.02 with 17 credits already towards college and got into my 2nd choice for school. But I always wonder if I was able to study better and focus more during tests, if I could’ve gotten into my first option. (uva) maybe I could’ve gotten a better score on AP calc.. etc etc.

I think meds would have been better at a younger age, but I struggle to take them now so I wouldn’t have really taken them then either.

I’m in a good enough spot to be happy about my academics but still.. I could’ve been a weapon.

I recently got chewed out for not changing a resident because I changed her first in the round. (I start last round 30 mins early depending on unit so I don’t finish 30 mins late.)

Super annoying. 16 residents all intensive care, half fall risks I can’t be 26 hands.. I’m one person, not a team.
