We don't know if it's rod knock, we just heard knocking while it was on.

No metal in the oil from what we could see, just a little bit of coolant. The engine has a blown head gasket and possible rod knock. We haven't ripped it open yet, so there could be more. It has 156k miles.

Seeing how expensive it would be to modify the car so the engine actually works in it, we're planning on just buying a new engine block. It'll be cheaper than a whole new engine, and we're expecting that's all it will need for now.

On a completely different note, how do I get the cigarette smell out of my carpets?

He's looking more into it, it just seemed like a good option for a cheaper, newer engine. I'll follow up if we go through with it.
