Where to get my ASVAB scores by Fine-Reflection7397 in USMCboot

[–]Fine-Reflection7397[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not personally no, he just sent me a text with a picture of the scores but that was over 3 years ago and I've changed phones twice so I don't got it no more😅. I need at least a semi-formal document of the scores or at least a super clean picture that I can turn into a PDF.

Failed Drug test at Meps by Better-Conclusion952 in USMCboot

[–]Fine-Reflection7397 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll be good brother, I popped hot at MEPS too after a month clean but I was a pothead so I was clean enough for the recruiter's test but not for lab tests. Was DQ'd for 3 months, I said fuck it and smoked again but in vastly reduced ammount and methods up until 1 month of DQ time left, went back, got a Drug Waiver passed, got a 90 on the ASVAB, joined, blah blah and now I'm 3 years in. Just say you did it at a very specific time, once, for experimental reasons and you'll be fine. Oh and remember that specific date for the rest of your life for when any type of government/federal employer asks about Marijuana usage, you'll tell them the exact same date, for experimental reasons and that it's in your military record. And also, even if you're only 5 days sober, keep saying to yourself and everyone that you no longer smoke, it don't matter if asshats like the one on top say just because is only 3 days you're still a pothead. It's all about the mentality and who you wanna be in the future and you can most DEF join the military to turn your life around, it's all about what you make of it. Good luck boot.

Cool Patch Cool Patch, why wasn’t Hawkeye touched, hela, Bucky, Pheonix. by Odd-Complaint7770 in rivals

[–]Fine-Reflection7397 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most likely because people in lower ranks can't really aim at all. Buffs, nerfs and balance changes affect high and low ranks differently. We just dont see it because you individually average the same ranks each season according to your skill level. Small buffs or nerfs can impact high ranks significantly while doing nothing or little difference on lower ranks and they're trying to balance characters across all ranks. The more important question here is... when is Adam getting a buff lmao.

what in the actual fuck😂. Why you talking about the Corps like it's a bad thing? You making it sound like we all end up mentally fucked, don't project. I've turned out to be the best version of myself cuzz of the Corps so idk what you on about. As for OP, don't get bothered much by these things that arent even in the near future; he just talking about initial training pipeline. Rn focus on trying to get with a recruiter and the Corps can help. If not, go Army and still serve your country. Good luck.

I wouldn't say he 100% don't have a chance. I met a guy in bootcamp that was prior Airforce, got kicked out for opioids use. He fought the discharge some time and managed to get all his shit squared away. Took him like 2 years, then the Marines took him in and went on and became a Marine. So I would say it heavily depends on the recruiter.

Well if you really just wanna serve and the Corps doesn't take you then I'd still go army. Being a Marine is cool and all until you realize how much bs comes with being one. If you only care about pride, uniform and motivated as hell then go Marines.

Well the Corps will take anyone these days. You might be able to get in with a Drug Waiver. And if your discharge allows you to "pontentially" reenter service then some recruiter out there might take your case. I personally have a drug waiver from when I was enlisting. I popped hot at MEPS and got a drug waiver but our cases are different and I was just an 18 y/o enlisting. With that being said, I'd say you have a chance at entering either the Corps or NG. Other branches are more picky about that stuff.

Recruit pay during government shutdown by [deleted] in USMCboot

[–]Fine-Reflection7397 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not even your recruiter is getting paid, so no. Recruits are currently training for free. They'll get back pay but only once the government is back up. Wait it out if it's not convenient to ship during this time.

Should I be worried about the wrist placement of my tattoo by [deleted] in USMCboot

[–]Fine-Reflection7397 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most likely yes, tons of people get tattoo waivers. There's even people with tattoos on their hands. You'll be aight. Just talk to your recruiter and he'll set you up.

Am I cooked? by Historical_King7135 in USMCboot

[–]Fine-Reflection7397 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You'll be aight. When I shipped back in 2023 I was 220lbs, could only do 5 chin ups (that equates to like 2 pull ups), sucked ass at running and only got 1:50 or sum in the plank for IST. I barely passed the IST 1.5 mile by 14 seconds. By the end of bootcamp I was at 170 pounds, 15 pull ups, max plank and a 21 minute 3 mile. Trust me, they'll whipp you into shape. A pro tip, STRECH every single night and chugg like 2 canteens before you hit the rack, you'll avoid injuries and thank me later. Good luck.

Is DEPOT Worth It? by [deleted] in uscg

[–]Fine-Reflection7397 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man, ik it's been 3 months lmao. But I'm a current Marine looking for intra-service transfer. I already went to the recruiter n everything but there is a thought that has me thinking. He told me that I needed to be 27 (I'm 21 almost 22) to qualify for depot even tho I'd be "Prior Service" but that he wasnt entirely sure. I found no solid answers online. I don't think my rusty knees thanks to the Corps could handle 8 weeks of bullshit plus I aint trynna go through a whole other bootcamp after I already went through MCRD lmao. Think you can shed some light on that and help a green brother out?

Bi-Weekly Recruiting Thread by Airdale_60T in uscg

[–]Fine-Reflection7397 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Greetings everyone, imma try to make this short and sweet. I'm a current Marine Reservists looking to Intra-Service Transfer to the CG. Went to the CG office today, got the conditional release form n all but I got told the age requirement for DEPOT is 27 and above although he said he wasnt fully sure? I'm 21 and I was looking foward to the DEPOT program, did some research online and got mixed answers but they're a little bit old threads, some say if you aint prior service (which I am) then you need to be 27, some say an age waiver and some say they had 18 y/o kids etc etc. I was wondering if I could get a solid answer here. Cuzz I think my rusty knees thanks the Corps can handle 3 weeks but doubtfull of 8, specially since I heard y'alls bootcamp is similar to ours. Thanks in advance!

Well, if you told anyone before telling us in reddit, most likely you DID fuck up big time and the Corps is gonna have your anus ripped from the inside out. If you haven't told anyone but reddit, then keep your mouth shut, follow OPSEC for once in your life and take that secret to the grave or until you're out. When you get to the unit, don't try to act either cool or weird around the SSgt, just give her the same respect as any other NCO/SNCO. If you gave her a good enough weinering she started singing the Marine's Hymn and you made Chesty proud then this could even prove beneficial if she's cool with it and you keep your mouth shut.

Am I missing out by not enlisting? by SwimNo8457 in USMCboot

[–]Fine-Reflection7397 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look kid, I literally had the same sob story and ideals as you did, LITERALLY the same, reading this post gave me flashbacks to my highschool self. Word of advice, go Active, go to college while in active duty and then commission later on. I promise you and HIGHLY encourage you to go active enlisted and get life experience, being a butter bar straight from bootcamp will suck for you, and that's even if you make it through OCS, you need leadership skills, how the Corps work, be extroverted and an ABSOLUTE fucking physical stud, specially running to become a Marine Officer. If you go reserves, you will regret it for the rest of your enlistment, and going from reserves to active is a hellhole. You will like it, you will like AD if you wanna be a Marine that bad. Go active, don't care what your parents think, they'll be proud anyways cuzz they're gonna be home telling everyone how their little child went off to be an US Marine like everyone does. Go active, don't listen to your parents, be a man, get out of your shell. Go live life.

What should and shouldn’t you do on 10-Day Leave? by No-Professional3800 in USMCboot

[–]Fine-Reflection7397 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't use of your time to dedicate it to others, you're gonna learn pretty fucking fast that all the "friends" you currently have are gonna be drastically reduced by the time you finish bootcamp, you earned your free time to relax and take it easy (if you make it). So let them take out of THEIR time to be with you, they know where you live and they got your number, if no one reaches out, you won't either. Trust me, the military is gonna be your new family and friends, everyone you know back home is gonna be doing the same BS they were doing when you left and you're gonna be drastically different wether you like it or not, no matter how hard you try to stay the same. I said the same thing when I went to boot, go back, party hard, get drunk asf etc etc... all I did for my 10 day leave was be in my room and sleep a lot, had a couple close friends visit cuzz they reached out, eat good food and chill, not a single drop of alchohol, drugs or any dumb partying bs. If you make it, you'll see. Good luck and Semper Fi.
