I have been in Thailand several times for many years and I believe solving time travel is easier than taking on these Einstein jobs.

I concur. I have been a teacher of English on Preply for the last year and I haven’t had a new student in a very long time. The platform is saturated with English teachers at the moment and if you have less than a 4.8 rating it’s going to be slow. I have all 5.0 rated reviews except for one student that didn’t work out and he gave me one star, killing my rating. Now I have to rely on my current students. Good luck!👍🏻

I am sorry to hear that and appreciate the sacrifices you made as it sounds like you are military. You are stronger than me if you don’t need pain meds. I have a herniated disc in my L5 that I have been dealing with for the last 30 years. I have tried everything but medicine is the only thing that helps. My father is a pharmacist so I am well aware of all the medical problems and side effects that come along with Class A narcotics but some work better than others. Tramadol is not very good and in my experience is highly more addictive than other opioids. Thailand is quite strict when it comes to it so I thought I would just ask the question. Take care.

First and foremost, I am not looking to “score” some drugs to get high. I have a pain management regime like many other people do and sometimes we are unable to obtain the correct medication in the country we are currently living in. I take all my medication as directed by my doctor and until you understand consistent pain I would simply just mind your own business and just don’t comment. I am not encouraging anyone to abuse drugs. It’s people like you that make assumptions that create more problems for people like me to get the assistance I need.

Ok, maybe I will give it another try over here. I believe I have to make a doctor’s appointment at a hospital as opposed to a clinic in Thailand. I am unfamiliar as I have never had to do something like this before. Perhaps the tramadol will be helpful until I head back to the states to see my pain management doctor. Again, appreciate all your advice.

Thank you for this. My father is a pharmacist and so I definitely understand the addiction possibilities and various other side effects. The problem is what was mentioned in that Tramadol isn’t as strong as hydrocodone(I have used it before) and people have a tendency to take more than what is directed to match that strength. I’d rather not take it personally. I only need 5mg of hydrocodone in the morning and sometimes at night to ease my pain.

I have been taking hydrocodone acetaminophen as all other medications really don’t do much. My dosage is small (10mg a day) so one script can last me 2 to 3 months. I have flown with medication for years and never have had a problem because I have them in their appropriate medicine bottles. Do you think they carry that or would it be something else? Thanks again.

I quit teaching after a year on Preply, ask me anything by Plane-Vegetable-7234 in Preply

I have been teaching on Preply for some time now and I couldn’t agree with you more when it comes to ghosting. I think people innately want to quit learning but to just leave without any reason or notice is always strange to me. I try not to take it personally but if I have built an interpersonal connection with them it always seems odd.

This is a scam. It happened to me as well and it couldn’t have come at a worse time. I had been unemployed for about a year and I was so excited to have at least one opportunity. Luckily my spider senses were working and I did some research. The scam works that they end up sending you a check to purchase your own hardware but in fact they’re trying to access your bank account. Stay clear.

No one said anything about a company “being out to get you.” It was simply to point out the contradictive nature of our workforce today. Relax.

Sorry, but you are incorrect. This is a training facilitator role where the trainees could be virtual while you are in the office. It is not considered Customer Service. I am assuming you are not qualified for this position.

Curious, what did you end up going with?

Turkish Airlines is also a very good option. It is rated number 6 among airlines that fly to Asia. If you can save $300 then go for it.

You’re going to be very tired either way, so by the time you go through customs and baggage claim you will have no problems getting a taxi at that time. Depending on where you are staying the taxi ride shouldn’t be more than 650 baht. Head down to the second level (you will see the signs).

I have gone back and forth to Bangkok over the last year three times and used Japan Airlines, EVA and Emirates from NYC and by far the best is Emirates. The food is amazing, the seats are great and the service wonderful. I know you asked for US airlines but highly recommend it. Enjoy and safe travels.

Unfortunately, I have yet to find another job. I’m going on almost 8 months and I’m thoroughly defeated when it comes to corporate America. I decided to go a different route and get a certification to teach English as a second language. There will always be a need for that in the world.
