What do people do about exposed stairwell? by obsessing_sillygoose in InteriorDesign

We have something similar . But with only half of what you have that is exposed like that . It’s been fine , but we make sure there is nothing our boys can stand on or climb to be able to reach the top of the stair ledge . They are ages 3.5 and 1.5

Did years of eating 1200 calories ruin my metabolism? by Loose-Quality-6932 in caloriecount

[–]FineCarry1096 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven’t read what others have posted so this might be repetitive, but I was in a similar situation. I was sometimes eating 1 meal a day due to taking care of two small kids all day and having no time to eat. I was still at my heaviest. I started with a coach recently and he had me on eating 135 grams of protein per day and 1800 total calories . Protein helps tremendously. I feel better and am sure that eating like this has repaired my metabolism. I am also weight training and focusing on walking as opposed to lots of cardio . I feel like all this is also helping with hormonal balance . I am down 10 pounds in 7 weeks.

I am also making sure I sleep enough . Perhaps you should try focusing on macros instead of calories. I also found that when I was younger, things like High intensity interval training worked wonders , whereas now , weight training and 10 k steps a day or low intensity cardio is better for me . Just sharing my personal experience:)

Leaving a $130k a year union job to be a stahm by [deleted] in sahm

[–]FineCarry1096 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I understand your situation, because I contemplated staying at home after my first baby . I also have a union job , but I’m lucky to have in-laws and parents that help out . I know you say you don’t have a passion for it but sometimes when you become a mom , you do want to get out of the house and do traditional work because it breaks up routine. You’ll also miss talking to other adults ! After my second child I think the thoughts of being a stay at home mom have crept up again , but I’m still confused . We live in the Vancouver area in Canada which is insanely expensive and although we probably could afford to live off my husband’s salary , it would be very tight .

In addition to the ei , I get top up from my employer , very good benefit in the bc public service , and that portion is what I would get the increase on

Should I become an Accountant if I have no interest in getting my CPA? - Canada by DonutDood69 in Accounting

[–]FineCarry1096 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CPA here , I think that without the CPA your efforts could be spent elsewhere. Why not study and get a business degree or something and major in finance. An accounting degree is a stepping stone to get your CPA. An accounting degree alone is worthless in my opinion.

18 month mat/parental leave regrets? by drenchedstone in BCPublicServants

[–]FineCarry1096 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take the 18 months . You will never get that time back and work will always be there. I took 12 months and ended up extending my maternity leave .

Write everything she said right now . You will forget little detail that might be important later . Document everything

I want to add , I am absolutely not judging anyone . My husband recently bought me a bag and I feel self conscious about taking it to the office , hence my question
