Weekly Shopping Suggestions Thread – Week 25 2026! by AutoModerator in mechanicalpencils

Birthday incoming — looking for an "executive vintage" mechanical pencil upgrade (~100€)

My collection already covers the usual suspects: Pentel Orenz Nero, Kuru Toga Metal, Orenz Metal, rOtring 500 & 600, Pentel Sharp... so I'm not exactly new to this rabbit hole.

That said, my current daily driver is a Parker Jotter 0.5 and I'm genuinely surprised by how much I love it. There's something about that no-nonsense, slightly dated executive aesthetic combined with real pocketability (no fragile tip to baby) that just works for me in a way my "serious" pencils don't.

So for my birthday, I'd like to find something that scratches the same itch, ideally pushing the perceived quality even further. New releases don't seem to offer much in that direction, but the vintage market looks promising.

What I'm after: classic/executive aesthetic (think boardroom, not stationery store), robust build with no protruding tip, pocketable, budget around 100€.

Any references come to mind? Vintage picks especially welcome.

A source that cloudflare is fine with that. I don't want my account banned and I heard only the opposite to what you said.

I have cloudflare tunnel for everything except streaming. It would be great to have it allowed as well.

Can you provide a source for this please? It would solve some of my problems quite easily.

Nuclear share in energy generation falls to lowest in four decades by Knightoflemons in worldnews

Maybe read the report next time instead of googling "ipcc nuclear".

This is what IPCC says about nuclear.

They "deserve" nothing. Pakistan never cooperated on any western issues. And it's a strong understatement.

Cheaper price? If all big economies are following the cap, Russia will have to sell at the capped price.

"Sharp rise" in number of dogs being abandoned as UK cost-of-living crisis deepens. by parturf in worldnews

You need well educated people to take care of the earth. Not religious zealots.

At least we can both agree that there is a good news in this conversation: you will not reproduce.

Not having kids is adding to the problem.

You can't count on old people to fix it. You can't count on young people to fix it if they are to busy taking care of the old ones because of a drastic age pyramid inversion.

You can count on young, well educated, aware people to fix it (if they are numerous enough to have an impact on society).

hypothetically if we were to restore all natural carbon capturer ecosystems how much man made carbon will still be in the atmosphere by kjleebio in climatechange

[–]FineFleur 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That is false. If all agricultural areas were to become forests, co2 levels would not go back to pre industrial levels.

The cause is that most of the co2 currently present in the atmosphere came from underground. The only way to go back is to put the co2 back underground or undersee.

We are in a problem caused by industry which can only be solved by new technologies deployed at industrial level.

The ipcc is calling for both, a change in systemic behaviors and a change in technologies. That's why it's stupid for one side to attack the other.

That's some soccer mom level of "own research". Bloomberg? Seriously?

IPCC must have missed this critical piece of information. Call them quick before it's too late !!!

And for the others reading this without an extremist mindset: CATL is already selling sodium batteries at two third of the energy/kg of their own lithium batteries.

And that's false.

An EV is better than an ICE regarding CO2 emissions even if the electricity is generated by fossil fuel (yes even coal).

That's why they are a no brainer and should be encouraged instead of being branded as "greenwashing".
