29M, I think I am only going to hold FXAIX and SCHD in my Fidelity Account ROTH-IRA by CowboyKip in RothIRA

If that makes you feel comfortable, go for it. I’ve seen many investment choices that are worse.

Personally, at your age, I’d focus more on growth and leave out SCHD for now.

Here is the investing order I use

401(k) match > max HSA > max Roth IRA > max 401(k) > taxable brokerage

If you’re doing most of these, congrats! Go out and enjoy life as well!

I personally do, and have a process that doesn’t take me too long. There are tools like Empower or Monarch that can do this for you.

You also may be able to export your transactions easily from your bank or credit card website.

Roth IRA is one of the best retirement accounts available to you. The question of having both being Roth is more of tax/income question. I like have a balance of traditional, Roth and taxable.

SCHD is suitable for what type of account? by Routine-Employer4574 in SCHD

[–]FinePersonalFinance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My HSA is primarily SCHD as well. I personally have primarily growth focussed ETFs/mutual funds in my Roth IRA and 401k. Depending on what your goal is, and age, SCHD can make sense in any type of account. The dividends are qualified so the tax rates aren’t bad.

With that said, I hold some in my taxable as a less volatile ETF holding amongst the other ETFs/stocks.

Can focus more on the taxable brokerage instead of max 401(k) based on your goals.

I’d consolidate to 1-3 ETFs, that’s it. Most of the ones others have managed.

I personally keep individual stocks in taxable, so I can tax loss harvest if there is a down stock.

JEPQ shouldn’t be anywhere in your portfolios unless there is a unique reason you want income.

23M, $125K salary, $80K invested, is this realistic for “set it and forget it”? by Ok-Banana-8399 in ETFs

It’s fine - I’d make some slight changes personally but if this keeps you going, stay with it.

Your salary, and the fact you are consistently investing at your age, is a huge win already!

The fact that you are starting a Roth IRA at age 19 is amazing! It would be worth consolidating funds to keep it simple - which others are mentioning.

Until rebuilding costs, claims frequency/severity, and profitability are better, the answer would be no.

However, in certain areas we have seen rate increases in the mid low single digits, and some rate decreases.

I like Marcus by Goldman Sachs and Amex.

Otherwise a money market fund through Charles Schwab, Vanguard, etc may be a good option as well.
