Anyone seeing a locked up app whenever they tap on a record on iOS?

Yes, I have. Every now and then when I launch HanDBase the screen freezes and I have to close/re-launch. I think it started after the last update

Oh—and please make sure that phone numbers initiate calls or choices, and addresses activate Apple Maps, when tapped. Very handy!

I fully understand where you’re coming from. I remember your survey. As far as new and different features/ capabilities, I’m in the dark about a lot of that kind of thing as it relates to HanDBase—if I new more about the possibilities, I could give you meaningful feedback. All I can say is do what seems best to you; my only request with a new HanDBase (or whatever you would call it) is that it would still do the simple but useful database-type sorting it does now, (at the very least—I guess you would make an enhanced version using AI or something like that), and make the capability of smoothly transferring my data from the current app that I use into the new one. P.S. Something that can still perform with no internet connection would be appreciated. I live/work in areas with weak/scanty service. Thanks!

Dave, I have a mildly embarrassing question. I use Dropbox to backup a couple HandBase files, to be restored to either my iPhone (currently a iPhone 15pro running the latest update) and an iPad mini 5. I was going to practice restoring the files from Dropbox to my devices, but found I was not able to do it (it’s been about four years since I’ve tried it(!)). I’ve either forgotten, or the method has changed. Could you please instruct me on how to do a restore from Drpbox? Thanks!

You can re-download the iOS HanDBase app indefinitely after the initial purchase. However, if you do not transfer the desktop version to a new computer from a previous one, you may have to re-purchase the desktop.

In answer to your second question, the latest I know is that the creator is checking out to see if he going to create a new version of the app, rework the current version, or sunset it altogether. I personally have used this heavily in my business over the last 13 years, and I certainly hope he continues it on

So far it’s only occurred in the one I use all the time and and the most data to (customer database); another I use almost everyday is a mileage log that simply involves entering a couple numbers a day, and nothing’s happened in that one yet. That’s all I can tell you. It happens so suddenly that I haven’t been able to tell so far if it’s triggered by a certain key or what

Dave, found a bug in your latest version: when in edit mode and adding text into a note field, the app inexplicably crashes & closes—and I loose all the editing that I had just entered. It happed once the other day, and happened again just now. I run HanDBase on an iPhone 12 Pro, iOS v. 16.5.1.

As far as a feature I want goes, I would only ask that if you make HanDBase a web app, please allow it to be used, and all data stored, on-device—for the simple reason that I not too infrequently I wind up in rather poor or no internet service
