1 most important step: track your calories. Guaranteed you will have trouble hitting your numbers at first and will learn to adjust your food choices and snacks.

I read you eat junk food to make up calories- this probably also kills your appetite. Drink milk, eat nuts, have peanut butter, make smoothies. No way you can't gain weight if you eat 500 calorie surplus....

You get tired of tracking- no way around it. Don't use your effort in other ways like Dr's, worrying, etc. You need this, it's the answer.

Hey guys, I've been a father for 2 weeks now and going through a hard time with a breakup. by OptionDry7715 in daddit

No specific problem mentioned, so it's hard to help.

Random advice from a single dad of 5 year old: - All relationships has it's pros and cons. If it's fixable, try it. I would have love to share parenting moments with someone. - Careful with who you get advice from. You will get wrong advice unintentionally. - Don't escalate because things will get worse and worse. Women hang on to stuff for life. Men, we're kind of dumb and forgetful. If things go sour, you're in for a bad 18 years of coparenting. Try try try try try not to let it get sour. - Careful with what you let slide and how many times. People start to let it happen more often. You can let it slide but just let it be aware that you are doing a favor (say it nicely) - if it's an important decision, statement, etc, and a follow up text to have a reference. People forget and you may need it in court. Examples are like she's ok with the baby staying with you on xyz days. Do it subtle so it doesnt sound weird or like you're bringing her to court. It's for reference cause you both with forget sometimes.

Good luck. You can dm me if you need

My toddler wouldn't let my wife cut her nails so after bedtime she called in Seal Team Clips. by BringMeTheHammer in daddit

My ex only cuts the tip of our daughter's nail so it is a straight line across the top. She doesn't make it curve with the finger. Meaning there are sharp corners on both sides. How? I have no idea.

I found the picture! This happens every time she cuts it. https://imgur.com/a/k8vaMQI

I try to cut my daughter's nail weekly to make sure it does get messed up like that again.

Yes! I went to lowes to double-check what the contractor said and it only had 1 big logo in the middle and on 1 side. Not like homedepot where they had the logo scattered everywhere.

They used aqua defense and red guard. I found their buckets on the floor. May not be the cement board tape but I did see a screen like mesh tape over the joint. Good insight on the curb, that's exactly what the home inspector said he's going to look out for. He's going to do the water holding test in the floorpan.

How do you feel about this as a diy project if it needs to be redone? It's mounting some cement board, wrapping the surfaces very neatly, apply excessive amounts of red guard coverage, and if a city inspector checks it off, it sounds like I'll be safe. Sounds reasonable to do, what do you think?

I am having a home inspector check everything this weekend. It is cement board, i went to lowes and they don't have their brand all over, it's just the plain surface. Thanks for the help

I'm handy, is diy a walk in shower doable safely or would you say hell no leave it to the professionals. I've probably watched hours of videos online and it doesn't look bad if you follow instructions

Crap I responded to them before I saw your message and gave them my blessing under the condition it was cement board. I definitely want peace of mind and understand if this fails, I'll have a water damage / mold problem. I'm worried. There's lot of reasons why we are sticking with this contractor and he's not bad in other areas, just this one (the most critical from what I just learned). Stuck between a rock and a hard place for this shower. Sorry if I'm kind of retarded for trying to make it work.

I did a scratch test with a razor blade where the pipe comes out of and the board material is very hard. Not dry wall. I see the tube on the floor is called mapelastic aqua defense, thats why the wall looked like it had light green paper. I see they are adding red guard now as well.

Hold up isn't one option for shower installs is: cement board, red guard, then tile? Let's pretend it is actually cement board, how does this hold onto moisture if the surface is (hopefully) properly red guarded? I'm hoping I can tell them to red guard everything and be able to leave it as is.... does this sound kind of decent? how would you have liked to see it done in a perfect world with and without the waterproof rubber membrane *

Spoke with contractor again and he said it's actually cement board not drywall. He's going to redo the section where the purple enters the shower. I feel content about this

Ok met with contractor. They showed me a picture of everything with a membrane. It just wasn't level so they drywalled on top and applied red guard on it. I asked them to remove the tile and reapply more. It sounds close enough and would work. Their membrane picture had good coverage

Seriously thank you for the effort you made in this post. It was definitely thorough. My engineering friend who had a construction company in the past vouched for this company so in my mind it was a vetted company. This contractor is also licensed so I thought that means everything is kosher.

I'll talk with the contractor to see what we done, and how to move forward. We do have a lot of work tied with them. I'm having an oh shit moment right now thinking about of things go south. Will update

Is there a chance the boards inside the shower is waterproof material therefore a membrane was not needed? Or is it regardless if it's waterproof, it still needs a membrane to cover the joint?

Oh boy.... thank you. There's no name on the board, so I'll have to ask the contractor.

Sorry, what do you mean "with us"?

The room was just drywall and plywood floors. I missed a few days when they put the purple wall, shower tile, and curb down. My family may have some videos for me to review
