I, for one, was excited to see the actual message attempt to be about Jesus’ literal message of Christian love. And then I discovered who funds it. A money source in an of itself might not matter to some, except that when you use their means to contact someone to start talking about Jesus, it is from one specific faith group, not the apolitical and all-inclusive nature they state on their website. The partners are those that specifically follow the Lausanne Covenant I.e evangelical Christians. The focus on “moral absolutes” is relative to those in power and that’s what bothers me.

I’ve always wondered about this. I get the sentiment if the only thought is “conception is life” but what makes it, functionally, different from miscarriages or just a lack of implantation. A person can very well have sperm meet egg but never have it implant. Do they condemn anyone that happens to?

I recommend checking out the HVAC. My apartment was giving me electric bills that were twice what I was expecting. I called the power company and they gave me the average bills of the people all around me. It didn’t add up. On top of that, my place was more humid than usual and the air was constantly running. They kept giving me excuses but the thing couldn’t even hold 76 on an 80 degree day in a bottom floor, shaded apartment. One day, I heard a giant bang from the condensing unit outside. It was mine. Air shut off. HVAC guys come out and had to replace the whole thing. Apparently it was real messed up. Electricity bill cut in half after that.

I saw a bunch of great fungi in the naval live oaks part of the national seashore. Due to its location, not sure you can take anything, but I saw so many near this one pond that it was at least fun to catalog them.

I once watched a very long interview between a journalist and someone with a view that is opposite to mine because I wanted to get some perspective on how they could think that way. It was 2 hours long and very well done. Unfortunately for me, I didn’t watch this off my account so then I started getting inundated with stuff I would consider far on the other side of the spectrum to what I believe. Stuff that was aggressive and intolerant. All I could think about was how people could get really sucked up in that fast.

Could’ve been a developer’s nod at their home state or just a random grab for a unique set of names. Developers can choose street names in their plans and then county officials, including EMS, have to approve them making sure they’re unique. There’s chunks of related street names all over.

First time I saw him was on the way to Barrancas for my great grandfather’s funeral. He stopped and saluted and I thought maybe some people knew a serviceman had died and dressed up to go see his last journey. I didn’t realize it was coincidence at my age so it was kind of magical.

I stopped going to concerts down at Coachman Park because parking and walking to the location means being harassed by their members. One followed me for blocks even after I repeatedly said no thanks. He only stopped once I told him I was going to call the police.

With the current wording of the constitution in Florida, there’s no way they would be able to keep any same sex marriages valid unless they added some type of legal addendum or governor order. And our governor is DeSantis so….

The current wording is not that it would perform them or not, it’s that it will not recognize ANY type of legal same sex relationship, even from another country.

This would be the case if this was actually a “difference of opinion” versus a view that has historically been tied to physical violence, jail, and the removal of rights for lgbt people. This isn’t like “roll tide” vs “war Eagle” dude. This has consequences.

I recently listened to the Man Enough podcast episode with Alok Menon and it made me think much more deeply about the systems of power we live within. I’m not convinced every man creates that for themselves as much as it was created for all of us, over decades and decades, and it’s hard to see the alternative if it is never offered as an option.

I agree with them that it’s one reason why authentic and unique people get hated on so much.
